They have. 80 grand, if I recall.
Yes, I recall as well. That was a GOOD thing.
What I'm talking about is the current stupid idea of wasting 32k on absolutely nothing. It's an effing embarrassment is what it is.

There is like at least four threads that are the same thing about this. That's four threads too many.
I agree. This stuff has reached ANOTHER level of ridiculousness that I thought was unattainable.
I just wish people would give BioWare time and be patient for a couple of months, but no.
Well - look what thappened the last time people gave Bioware 'time' and 'patience'.
DA2 and ME3 happened. They got bait n' switch statements from developers before release vs. delivered product. They got not-so-veiled baiting PR spin against them ......
So .... if people wish to keep the pressure up - now's the time to do it, not after the DLC.
@BringBackNihlus: No, then that means they couldn't RAAAAGGGGEEEEEE until summer. And giving them time would be too easy, not to mention that apparently it won't be good enough even though no one has seen it yet.
@Xandax: DA2 was amazing, thanks. So was ME3. Complaining now can only end badly and/or them saying "Screw it, we're not releasing anything."

My concern is that this will reflect negatively on the fanbase as a whole. Look what one user's FTC complaint did. This is fans reacting to the announcement of free dlc that might or might nit be good.
This is ridiculous, and, again, if you're proud of the charity work, tell people about that, but try to distance yourself from this.
The gaming press is going to be biased against us no matter what we do. People cite the charity as an example of us doing something constructive, but this was also maligned and scoffed at by people with close ties to the gaming industry.
This "conflict" (if you would call it that) is between corporation and customer. The only way that we are going to continue demonstrating to EA and Bioware that we are serious - and that this will affect future sales - is to use our wallets. That's why the charity drive was so brilliant (and why a billboard or other exercise of spending power) would be heard. It's not "ridiculous," it's one way to demonstrate a showing of spending power.

The line has been broken and given itself over to a mob mentality that just wants to see BioWsre burn. This is not constructive, and any negative coverage of this will not be unfounded.

"Hell yeah! Now Bioware will be reminded of this ****storm everyday while they drive to work!"
But then the other half of me comes out and says -
"We gamers already take enough flak from the media as it is. This will do more harm than good in the long run."
Overall, its a damn hilarious concept, but still going a bit overboard.

It costs as much energy into being against this as to being pro this. So, if there is any chance at all then I say go for it. If one does nothing then nothing changes.
This isn't about simpathy. This is about impact and so far we've had great impact, the price of the game dropped by a third within a few weeks of release and we got the attention of EA's corporate leaders. Hell the MP DLC wouldn't have been made free if it wasn't for our actions and if Retake hadn't been successful they'd probably have made the end DLC paid as well. After what happened with From Ashes and EA big shots planning to charge us $1 every time we loaded a game I think enough is enough. Time to stop letting them push us around as they please and do some pushing back. So far so good but no time to stop.....we got nothing but promises yet and we all know how much those are worth after the way they talked about the ending prior to ME3's release.

Again, I agree that 32k would be excessive. I have been advocating for the 9k option for the billboard near EA offices for a couple of days to gain media exposure.

You do realize what kind of media exposure this would get you, do you? It's going to be nothing but insults and laughter. And no one is going to take it seriously.

I think you're mistaken in assuming it'll just be the gaming media slamming this. Other news outlets highlighted the positives, like the charity, but nothing positive will come as a result of this. Are people expecting Forbes to frame this as a smart and civil response?
It's fans protesting in a generally civil way, not getting exactly what they wanted, and funding a billboard over it. That isn't something to be proud if when compared to charitable donations or a personal boyvott.

It's very much about sympathy when our own members are in disagreement over this, that's what will show in the press, not a united front, the press will report "They cannot even agree on what they want"Darth_Trethon wrote...

I just can't help but feeling like this is becoming more of a revenge for some people and a cry for attention from others. And believe me when I say that now everybody WILL think you are being whiny and entitled, after Bioware said they would give us this completely FREE DLC that they never once had to do. I want no part of it. If this is the direction the movement is going then I am leaving the Facebook page. I hate the endings, but I am not turning this into a personal vendetta. And I don't need a Facebook group to feel how I do about them.
This is no personal vendetta. We are attempting to attain a simple goal, a new ending. We are not crying for attention or looking out for revenge. We simply want the ending that we deserve.

Wait, you mean that the gaming industry might insult us, laugh at us, and not take us seriously?
Holy crap, time to pack up and get out of here!
<_< List one thing that we could do (aside from abandoning our efforts) that would get sites like Kotaku or Gamespot on our side. Honestly. You can keep trying to appease Colin Moriarty; I'll keep finding ways to express my concerns to Bioware in hopes that (again, longshot) they might take some of them into account when crafting their "clarification" dlc.

A) If you have nothing constructive to post, please don't post. You aren't adding anything to the board or the thread. That being said, anyone who you'd hope to make aware of your concerns via this method is aware of your concerns. At the end of the day, though, it's your money, and you can certainly spend it however you'd like. But if you're trying to spread your message this is not going to do much more than waste 5$ from 1800 people. Again, though - it's your money.
Well people need some outlet for their frustration, and since donating to charity is "wrong" this is as good a reason as any.
Good job at giving us some ammo John Epler

The press is and has been manipulated by EA, why do you think that none of the reviews even touch the endings while all having near perfect scores? The press will attack us regardless as they have in the past but that made no difference, EA still very much felt the sharp impact of our actions regardless.

If you chose Edmonton I will find a way to get someone of worth from Bioware to take a picture in front of it.
Please oh please god....... please choose Edmonton. I live in the Grove it's 45 minutes away tops.
That is part of the bigger plan eventually.
We will let our voice be known. We yelled loud enough for the ending to be fixed, now we will yell loud enough for a totally revised ending!

Media exposure? The movement had that..world wide as I remember. Tons of players asked questions as to how aspects of the ending were possible and why things happend. Bioware responded by saying they are putting out a DLC that will clarify the ending. At this point the media lost intrest because the movment had essentially won as much as they are going to win.
Putting up a large bilboard would have been a swell idea weeks ago and doing it now will only give the movement negitive media exposure which no one needs.
Just my opinion really though. If you have the extra 9k just lying arround and you cant figure out something better to use it for then go right ahead. I think i would feel better if you donated it in ea's name to a battered woman shelter though.

Other than the fact that the endings aren't being fixed...Kind of delusional there.
