I think they know exactly what we want. They are working on it and we have no idea what it will be like until summer. This seems quite pointless at the moment.

It's fans protesting in a generally civil way, not getting exactly what they wanted, and funding a billboard over it. That isn't something to be proud if when compared to charitable donations or a personal boyvott.

You act like we're egging Bioware Edmonton.  I think news outlets would see the humor in this, just as other posters in this thread have. 

And if not, you have to admit that the press has largely sided with Bioware from the beginning and that any illusions of "positive press" from this point forward are simply that. 

Negative or neutral press can't hurt us much more than it already has (any press is good press, as they say), but it can help keep the momentum going.

But again: nobody said you have to contribute.

+1. This seems like it's going too far. Bioware got the message. They know we're upset. Maybe the clarifying DLC isn't exactly what some people wanted, but it's hard to tell since we have no information about it yet. I get the idea behind not wanting to wait and see, but what exactly does this accomplish? It throws us right back to where we started; being called 'whiny' and 'entitled'. I just can't see any way that anyone would get positive coverage over this. The announcement of free DLC was certainly crafty--it makes anyone complaining seem ungrateful, and if this billboard goes up...well, just imagine how well that's going to go over. Fans complain about the ending, gain free DLC, and put up a billboard to show their displeasure. People are going to look at that and see a passionate fanbase, but it'll likely come across as more feverish and obsessive than endearing. The charity was a good idea. The cupcakes were cute. This is pushing it.

The 'Extended Cut' announcement made it VERY clear that the endings were not being rewritten. As a result, this whole thing is simply a waste of money.

This is just insane. I can honestly say that while I think the IT supporters have a cultist fringe element ...this is worse.

BioWare didn't have to release the Extended Cut, and even without any specifics, people are calling it a disappointment and funding a billboard because what they're getting for free isn't what they hoped they'll get for free. Hell, none of us know exactly what we'll get!

If people are insistent that this will bring about a new ending and there's no way to talk them out if it...so be it. As for me, I want nothing to do with this and resent that I'll be lumped in with these "fans"

They are simply fixing the plotholes of a already horrible ending.

Great, the plotholes are fixed, some extra scenes are added. Everyone still dies. The galaxy is still lost. The concept of the ending in itself, even without the plotholes is just plain horrible...in my opinion.

Oh please some of you need to grow up and see things for what they are. No matter what your intention is, that won't be what matters to anyone but you. In situations like the one you want to create, perception is reality. Anyone seeing your billboard lashing out about a video game, which in the larger sense is a toy and does't really mean squat, is going to see this as some petty childish stunt. It won't be taken seriously by most, and the ones that do take it seriously will view it negatively.

This is a lose proposition.

At the end of the day, though, it's your money, and you can certainly spend it however you'd like. I personally don't care how other people regard it. We're not trying to appeal to other people. We're simply trying target EA/Bioware....if we get some extra traffic from these billboards who had no clue about this group than that would be icing on the poverbial cake.

And you're right - we don't know exactly what we'll get.  But we do know exactly what we won't get, and that's why many people are still upset.  If you can't understand that people want to make their voices heard about that, then I can't help you.

We are helping to fund the billboard simply because we hate the upcoming ending dlc. We don't WANT THAT. We want a revised ending. Until then our group will hold the line/

not the thread for this really but all the plot holes can easy by explained away by bioware. Secondly the idea that everyone dies and the galaxy is lost is not fact uintil Bioware writes it as such. Till then its just some fan coming up with crazy ideas that dont fit anything we have seen in the game.

And because the free dlc isn't what you wanted, after everything people went through to get that, you believe a billboard will get you what exactly you want?

As for contributing, I'm doing so for the sole purpose of being able to say I didn't support this uf it happens and to urge people who have been proud of the movement so far to do the same.

 Bioware hasn't made a mistake. It's their product and they chose to end it this way, the only mistake was the plotholes and they're fixing those.

I remember proposing this idea a while ago. Not sure if I inspired the OP, but nice to see someone running with the idea.

If anything, I'd try to focus heavily on EA. They control the purse strings and can order BioWare back to work. A billboard that the CEO of EA ends up seeing every day on his way to the office will have an impact. BioWare seems to think the game is perfect as is, so I wouldn't waste my time on them.

Yell loud enough and someone will eventually hear you. The ending dlc proved that. Now we just have to yell louder.

Then why have a billboard, the whole point is to get a message out to the public to get their regard, you may as well send a letter, it's cheaper, and you'll get the same result, silence; or atleast a templated response thank you for your letter.
