Err um, I do repersent the movement. I was the one who first suggested the billboard campaign. My username is Jim on holdtheline.com, and if you go to war room you can see a 20+ page that I created...I wanted to be the backseat driver on this. I gave Micheal the "mike" so to speak.

You do not represent Retake Mass Effect.

That is the movement I speak of. You have said you don't repersent them. Yet your thread title STILL starts with that.

Will change, just for you sweetie:wub:

According to the avertising company 65% of all trafficers living in Edmenton would see our ad.

And how many people is that? What is gaming demographic in that area? How many people are you actually reaching? You have no clue. Not that I woudl expect you to, because getting the message out isnt what this is about. It's about giving EA or BioWare the finger because you are unhappy about the ending. This is straight up whining/crying to EA/BioWare.

They already know our concers. They are making the extended cut DLC. I've seen you say that 3 months isnt long enough to make a good DLC. Well, I think they took about 2 years to develope ME3. Lets say the ending DLC is 20 minutes long (which it will probably be shorter). They are taking 1/8 of the total dev time to make 1/90th of the total content. Seems like they are taking their time with this one.

Didn't you know Retake is now being run by dictators. Your opinion is now invalid as is the dozens maybe few dozen in each thread that stated how bad an idea this is. Their lack of a no option in their poll is a way to silence your discontent.

By then it will be too late.  There will not be a 2nd dlc if we don't like the first one, no matter how loud people are.  THIS is the time to up the protest and make every effort to influence whatever is being produced.

It's already "too late." They told you no new endings, that's what you're getting.

Hopefully at least some of you come to your senses. Good night.

We would rather avoid the offchance of being dissapointed again...until then..until we hear further details we will continue with our campaign.

Are you guys official allies? Have they supported or addressed it yet? Do they even know about this poll that lacks a dislike option?

If they'll support you, get it in writing. Iirc, they thought the FTC complaint was too much ...but if you're sure they'll support you officially, I'd clear that up asap.

Otherwise, can people get word to the organizers so they can prepare a response?

If they officially support them and this stupid idea goes ahead it will greatly damage them too.

They will by chaining themselves to the titanic know as this billboard idea.

Assume that you agreed with the idea behind it, but not with this method. What would you suggest as an effective method for a company wide heads up?

Er, so, you are changing your OP so it won't be associated with Retake? Are you doubting they might support you, "sweetie"?

I will give them the benefit of the doubt and guess that they did that so that only people within the movement who support this billboard idea could vote the poll instead of opening it to everyone and probably ruining any data they tried to gather. Or.. that was the conclusion I came to, almost suggested it. But clearly, the original author of this poll is not present, and we are stuck with a spokesman of a community that is ill-represented.

You know I shouldn't of tried to warn you how dumb this idea is, instead I should support it because it will literally condemn retake to history from the reaction you will get from all mainstream media and non mainstream including forbes turning their back on you plus both gamers here on these forums and elsewhere general gamers... This hurts you so bad maybe I should be pushing for you to do it just to see your world crumble and finally get to talk about the game outside the endings on these forums without being drowned out by whining over last 10 minutes of the game.

A) If you have nothing constructive to post, please don't post. You aren't adding anything to the board or the thread.

B) That being said, anyone who you'd hope to make aware of your concerns via this method is aware of your concerns. At the end of the day, though, it's your money, and you can certainly spend it however you'd like. But if you're trying to spread your message this is not going to do much more than waste 5$ from 1800 people. Again, though - it's your money.

Wow calling an action to make Bioware realise that their extended ending does not quite cut nearly what we want
is now a waste of money...

May as well spring for skywriting too. Or a commercial. Maybe a whole ad campaign.

Or we collectively take all our money out of bank accounts in small bill increments, carefully spell out our demands, then ignite the money. So the message is on fire. Deep.

The problem is that it is extreme.  The first thing that happened when I saw it was alarm bells went off in my head.  It makes you and those you are speaking for seem childish and silly.  It makes you seem impatient and unwilling to compromise.  Actions like this go from "Holding the line" to "Crossing the line".

I am surprised you are having trouble seeing that as a lot of people seem to be against this.  I was very much pro retake myself and this right here spoiled retake for me.  I don't want to be associated with them anymore.

I think putting up a billboard by their places of business is boarderline harrassment.  Not to mention just plain rude.  The charity was fine.  Letter campaign was great.  Memes are fun.  Even the cupcake thing was cute.

The billboard is going too far.

100% Agreed. I couldn't have said that as well myself.

Signed as well. This is counterproductive to even the support that Forbes gave to the Retake movement; even in their own words the rabid minority is being unreasonable:

I was a bit disappointed when fans reacted in a mostly negative fashion
to the news, saying that the move wasn’t enough and they wanted a full
rewrite instead. Fans have the right to continue to dislike the series’
conclusion but I think it’s not correct to judge before the content has
even be released, nor do I think it’s realistic to expect Bioware will
change their mind further, and rewrite the entire ending rather than
“expand” it. I still believe Indoctrination Theory is the best way out,
as it allows them to keep what they have, yet craft an entirely new
ending on top of what we’ve already seen.

Withhold your financial support from Bioware if you're ultimately unhappy with ME3 and/or their extended DLC.

I love how "hold the line" is still in the thread title (isn't that Retake's...thing? Obviously nit copyright, but couldn't it draw the comparison?

Also, "targeting "...that has a bit of a hostile connotation, doesn't it? Just my opinion.

You quoted me, yet failed to speak to any of the comments I made. I just want to get something clear right now. Who do you represent? Retake? HoldtheLine.com? I'm pretty sure if you represent either you represent both because I read that the Retake and Holdtheline websites merged. Are you represent neither and and are doing this on your own?

Also, even if Retake distances themselves officially through a Facebook post (I hope they will), I'm honestly hoping people will forget about this like the FTC complaint and not judge all the fans by this. I wish there was some measure of support for disliking this in the OP :(

I'll stop when puts a no or any answer other than yes in her or his polls. Until then nope.

She moans about how will lose 12 hours worth of votes, well extend the poll for 12 hours.

It's an excuse and a poor one at that. Retake now aparently dictates to you what you want. You no longer have a say because they do not give you one outside of agreeing with them.

What would we accomplish with this?

1- Bioware and EA are well aware of the issue and the general hate of the ending

2- The billboard doesn't have the words mass effect 3, bioware or EA on it.

3- People wont know what it is even talking about

4- If im working at EA and pass this bill board I chuckle then tell my fellow employees about it over lunch. They wont know what it was referencing. This is a funny side note on my drive to work, not a punch in the face

5- If we are going to spend $9000 donate it to a charity in retakes name. Or send bioware pies this time.

Posted this, but it got bookended on the last page

EXACTLY! That's precisely how you get any company's attention. Not a billboard.
