OP, I'm sorry, but it really is a truth that this money could be so much better spent in positive causes like charities, which have been a HUGE boost to our cause and helping those in need, rather than posting a cryptic billboard complaining in a manner that will damage our image to the public.
And regardless of whether we refuse to contribute this stunt will still manage to be tied to Retake as a whole, and not just HoldTheLIne, so that argument doesn't really work.

My concern is that this is larger than the IT. The IT is basically a civil war between BSNers...and, sure, it gets out of hand easily, but it's basically fans versus fans, some civil, some not, all contained on the BSN.

This, however, has the potential to backfire on all of us, even if the OP doesn't care about "the media". Again, people don't care about the distinction among fans, and even fans seem confused about the distinction.

That $9,000 pricetag, which people seem to scoff at as "not very much" could easily fund a better cause ( a chairty) or a more humorous cause (hell, MORE cupcakes!). After all, if the OP doesn't care if it's wasteful or not...then surely there must be a better alternative?

If this is truly a non-issue, though, can the OP please edit that remark into the first post so I don't have to keep quoting it?

I have no problems with IT believers. I can't say I ever had the pleasure of speaking with you before though I do tend to run through a lot of threads and never come back. Perhaps, there is hope between us fans to come together

It's a funny day when I can agree with a Pro ender as well .

Honestly , this is a PR Nightmare . We should learn from BioWare and release a post immediately as well as in the OP that the initiative needs real and legitimate consideration of the overwhelming and significant negative reaction in order to warrant rolling over all the supporters to a new more universally supported initiative .

I can't help but see the parallel between this and the BioWare silence .

the more they deliberate just like Bioware did , the more they alienate possible friends and supporters .

I do not say this because I want them to fail , I feel like as a fan of what any anti-ender group is doing , that I'm here trying to tell them that this is making the same mistake BioWare is making and all I keep getting is "calm down , chill out" . Sounds like the BioWare spin and chill out messages .

All I meant to say was that we weren't bringing any other site down with us. It's our name on the billboard. We would take blame, no one else. I used the term "pimping" simply because I was getting frusterated. 

 Honestly all this negative feedback took me by surprise, and I have acted out somewhat because of that. Again I apoligize for everything stupid I have said so far. We're listenting to everyobe. So please, enough fighting:(

OP, I would just like to clarify that I don't hate you. I can appreciate your enthusiasm, but I just want to make sure that everyone can express their opinion (Polls...) and that you don't just rush into an idea that has a big potential to explode in all our faces.

I've never had anything against those who hate the endings. The only time I get..heated..is when my own opinion is torn apart or I'm personally attacked.

I'm just one bloke, but I really can't support this at all.

I think this is channeling an awful lot of money in completely the wrong direction.

It'll be 'the FTC guy' x 10, an even bigger stick to beat the fans with by their critics. Because even if you did agree with Mr. FTC (which I didn't), you'd have to admit he's been brought up and used negatively an awful lot.

This won't hurt EA/Bioware so much as all the people that have tried very hard to bite down on their anger/sadness and give them thoughtful, constructive feedback over the last month.

Please reconsider.

The very fact that you have to say "We're Listening to ALL OF YOUR CONCERNS" sounds eerily like how BioWare is handling things . Which is why I think it's a sign that this initiative should be replaced with something else that you guys can propose . Something which will please everyone .

I really do believe in you guys to deliver something . I have more faith that you guys will come up with a better alternative to this billboard idea than BioWare with their "clarification" (though I'm holding out hope for that the more that we show them we're serious)

But like I said , please look at the fact that there is even a deliberation happening at all .

Seek universal consensus . That's what's worked for Retakers and all anti-enders alike in the past . Why should we change it now ? Don't make the same mistake BioWare did by "Clarifying" what you're doing with the billboard .

And before you say that I'm harassing you with these points , just remember that that's exactly what we're reminding BioWare every day . Realize that it's only annoying because you guys haven't accepted that this isn't a universally good plan in the same way BioWare hasn't accepted that a significant portion of their fanbase doesn't like it .
