I think a billboard might've been a cool idea (not sure if it would've been a good idea, but that's a matter of opinion) in the beginning of everything when we needed to be seen, and our opinion heard. But now with the ending DLC it might be a good idea to wait for a while to see how it'll play out, not leave or anything, just hold the line instead of pushing it forward. And who knows, they might even come up with something really good (i am sceptical, but hopeful) so that the majority will be happy with it, if not then we can light our torches then :)

Sorry should've mentioned our community.

You say your group was planning this for a month, why was the rest of the community not made aware of this plan until now?, that's where the problem really lies, you went behind closed doors with this plan, that is not a way to engender trust.

For me , it rather sounds like the same mistake that's rumoured to have happened between the creative team and Hudson et al . People so in love with their vision and the hard work that they put in that it's difficult to change .

Luckily HTL has an opportunity to reverse it with no cost to themselves unlike BioWare . Hopefully they'll make the right choice on the matter .

Honestly, the parallels are getting harder to ignore. Personally,  I think that's what's helped eased my mood.

Guys. I apoligize if have upset anyone. It's just that we've worked on this project for a month, and it's taken quite a effort to put this all together.

I also apoligize for some of my responses. I'm getting tired and a little cranky because of that.

We're listenting to ALL OF YOUR concerns, and Micheal and me are discussing the best course to take with this.

So sorry! I feel I've said some things I shouldn't have. I'll update you guys when I have further news.

Funny thing, a lot of the sentiments here remind me of what the Retake people were describing as being Bioware's overall response and how much it was pissing THEM off.

Okay, I'm just as ticked off with the endings as you are but this is way over the top. HTL and Retake are doing this the peaceful way, we don't need a billboard to shove in BioWare's face. Rioting like people did when they found out there was no Jokermance was bad, we shouldn't repeat it.

'Mass Effect 3' Ending: BioWare Office Billboard May Be Next Target For Outraged Fans, Cupcakes Go To Charity

Earlier in the week an organization of outraged "Mass Effect" fans sent developers BioWare more than 400 cupcakes to make a statement about the games ending. But it seems that the folks at the Edmonton, Canada office don't have much of a sweet tooth.

After receiving the baked goods, community manager of the BioWare forums posted a response to the sweet statement.

"The gesture certainly gained our attention both with its creativity and deliciousness," Priestly wrote. "However, while we do appreciate that fans were creative in how they expressed their views, after a lot of discussion, we decided ultimately the reason that they were sent was not done in the context of celebrating the work or accomplishment of the Mass Effect team."

The game development company decided to send the sweet snacks towards a worthy cause, donating the massive amount of cupcakes to the Edmonton youth shelter.

"We know that for the kids that have to use this facility, something as simple as a cupcake is a rare treat and would definitely brighten up their day," Priestly wrote.

This isn't the first charity to benefit from the so-called spoiled ending of "Mass Effect 3." A fundraising group was formed under the Child's Play organization called "Retake Mass Effect," where fans would donate money to benefit underprivileged children. The charity raised $80,000 before shutting down on March 22nd.

The cupcakes sent to BioWare were three different colors: blue, green, and red. Each color is said to represent a different ending option, symbolizing the control, synthesis, and destruction themes.

But could this delicious package motivate the game's creators to alter the ending? Although BioWare passed along the sweet gesture from the gaming community, Priestly encouraged fans to keep voicing their opinions.

"Please keep providing your feedback on Mass Effect 3," he wrote. "We're still listening."

However, "Mass Effect" enthusiasts aren't stopping there. Some fans are plotting another move to claim the ending to their beloved space-shooter RPG, with an effort that is a little more public.

According to a forum on HoldTheLine.com, a site dedicated to discussing the "Mass Effect" franchise, one user came up with a plan to "retake" the billboard outside of BioWare's Edmonton office.

"Does anyone want to start a chip in and raise enough money for 1 month of advertising for a Retake ME3 with Maurder Shields on the billboard? I can start this up if I see any desire in the idea," user Jim posted on March 30.

And the plan sparked wide response from other users, who were in support and ready to rally together for the cause.

"Genius! I'm so up for this. When do we start?" one user responded.

It is unclear if this movement will actually happen, but the "Mass Effect" fan base seems to be pretty adamant when it comes to supporting their cause.

But you've gotta admit the whole 'anti-anti-ending' crowd really picked up trolling in force after the announcements came in (which is really when **** would have started to calm/die down). You were certainly of no help.

ps. Maybe it's just cause I've always looked in on the BSN community from the outside, but I personally find these 'mass-printed' forum banners in signatures about as tacky as bumper stickers in the south.

I don't have to admit anything that isn't true. Retake's problem was with EA/Bioware not with me. They didn't start their group because of me, they started over the game specifically the ending. I didn't help? I didn't know I was suppose to, what did you have in mind sir? Did you want me to force Bioware into making them a new ending? lol.

Forums banners are much like avatars. everyone has them, get over it.

One word: 'overkill'.
Sure this is creative, but it's just too much. I want a better ending and if EC is just more cutscenes - it won't work for me, but billboard? Child's play ChipIn was great - it also helped children and I'm all for that kind of actions, but a billboard only for sake of a game?

I hate sounding like a conspiracy theorist but EA did get a black eye from this....their share rates were affected and the game's price dropped by a third as stores are more concerned getting rid of stock than ordering more. I would not be surprised in the least if they had people on these forums actively trying to split us apart. I am certainly NOT pointing fingers at anyone in particular but all this is a bit odd. Some billboards should not make a fan call for others to break our movement.

Like I was saying, it's all about that website and 15 minutes of fame while burying the fanbase in the process. I wonder if he doesn't make the goal, are they refunding the money back?

Which is why I think ultimately the HTL initiative can be reasoned with because with the parallels so obvious they hopefully will be smart enough to not go with the BioWare method of PR spin and running with their initiative anyway .

LIST OF SOME BILLBOARD-BIOWARE PARALLELS:

1. COUNTING SUPPORTERS INSTEAD OF THOSE AGAINST

2. PR SPIN OF 'YES WE'RE LISTENING BUT WE'RE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT OFF THE TABLE'

3. THINKING THOSE AGAINST IT ARE JUST PRO-ENDERS AND NOT A SIGNIFICANT SAMPLE SIZE OF RETAKERS

4. 'WE WORKED SO HARD THEREFORE PLEASE ACCEPT OUR BILLBOARD' (replace the word Billboard with Ending)

Seriously, though. Don't do this. It's a bad idea and will ruin our image. Worse, it can have the dire effect of hardening Bioware towards its fanbase.
