if your not a htl member please do not vote in our thread. we will post one later here. we don't want our own personal numbers to be skewed purely because of the influx of new members stuffing the ballot.

I just hope this guy doesn't do this to make money for himself. The Child's Play Charity was an awesome idea. The Cupcakes was meh, but at least they came clean about it.

This is just plain retarded. And yes, I think ME3 could do with a better ending. But this whole thread makes me wish I hadn't come to this forums and had to witness it. I feel ashamed in behalf of other people.

Honestly the entire forums nowadays are comprised of whiners and self-entitled users. These forums honestly make us sane Bioware fans look bad, due to the influx of idiotic posting on behalf of the other population.

Also, the fact that I have seen a ton of hate speech and general idiocy makes me wonder, what the hell happened to mature games?

These are privately owned forums. You can't tell someone if they are allowed to post or not unless you actually own the site or have special priveleges, like moderators and administrators, so that point is moot.

It was actually quite prescient that the people at the Retake Facebook didn't officially recognize them , though therre was diplomatic talk about it . If HTL truly goes through with this plan despite being hypocritically falling under the same kind of head-in-the-sand mentality as BioWare , then I'll have to stay clear of them as well which would be unfortunate =(

the very fact that your personal numbers somehow is more important than the rest of the anti-ender community is dangerous because it is necessarily saying "don't come to our website and sign up" and "we don't want to hear your opinion"

This is actually so scary that it ... yeah . I'd honestly protest hard against this just to make sure that the media outlets know that this initiative doesn't represent any of us except HTL members apparently .

At that point, IF we get to that point, I am just gonna pretend I never played Mass Effect and never supported the notion that the endings of ME3 needed looking at. Just like when I convinced my RL friends that I didn't play WoW, despite having done so since launch for 8 years.

COMPLETE DENIAL of shame.

who are you on the forum?

hotdogbsg.

Apparently didn't like the fact I'm off BSN

I believe they thought the poll would be kept to the HTL community, and another poll for scrapping the project would be brought to the BSN community. However it seems like michael is okay with all votes.

This a joke?, you present a vote here on BSN for your own proposition and then tell BSN not to vote on HTL, do you realise how rediculous that is?

Seriously, way to completely ignore the advice of your own board members, and attempt to silence the OTHER ME3 fans and owners who also want to voice their opinion.

If you have voted, and already commented, please refrain from posting again, or commenting on what other people are saying. We are attempting to make this a forum for each person to voice their thoughts without being attacked or judged. If they know you will have something to say, they will refrain from adding valuable commentary.

Everyone gets a say and I would hate to know someone's valuable input is buried in all the babbling.

Their 'leader' speaks which I assume cause his forum tag says 'Creative Team'.

Holy jesus, THIS is why the media has been lambasting us since day 1.

The eerie similarities between this and BioWare continues to grow more and more

I just hope someone over there is watching this thread and hasn't already made up their mind to push through this despite the amazing outcry by Retakers to not tarnish our so far amazing record of funneling money to good things

Sorry ... but a billboard .. naa i'll not entertain that one. We have made a great effort in making our voices be heard, and its hit every major news media about it. We did what we set out to do.

We did some good raised a lot of money for the kids till that got twisted into something evil by other people but that does not change the fact, we did something awesome to help kids.

They acknowledged that they have heard us and for me this has never been about forcing their hand, its about letting them know what we think and giving them ample oppertunity to respond to it.

The line in the sand rests in what they do now.  To keep pounding them to get what we want, falls into the same category as having a temper tantrum cause mom will not get you ice cream.
Sorry but true.

Its time to wait, see what they do. if its not what you want don't buy anymore of the games, period. that's how you should handle it as an adult.

So apparently there is more than one of these threads, there is a dup in the no spoilers section of ME3 and Michael the man behind the billboard is the OP.

social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/323/index/11227924/1

Does appear to be active, as he did reply to something I posted there.

Ask for our votes in one poll, just not another that *might* not turn out the way you hope.

My feelings are hurt :(

I'm not interested in personal attacks. KeilxKey, nothing against you at all. I don't doubt you're doing this in good faith. I appreciate it must be really horrible and baffling when you've been working hard on something then suddenly everyone is jumping all over you about it and attacking your quotes.

But Aznable Char does have a point there, it really does sound like the situation that's been happening to Bioware/EA over the past month. Avoid that pitfall.

You're not terrible people for planning this, it's just kind of a terrible idea.

Also, bonus points to Reptilian Rob for use of the word 'malarkey'. I like it, and wish to make use of it in the future.

You cannot be serious!

If you go forward with this it isn't just going to affect you and HTL!  It'll affect all of us.  Pro-enders, anti-enders, the people in the middle - it doesn't matter.  The whole fanbase will be labled and lambasted by a media that is already not on our side.

Do not make a desision in a vacuum.  Especially not a desicion that will affect everyone of us.

The OP said it was Michael's poll, didn't mention anything about not being able to edit the poll. He copied it verbatim from their website.

Wanted to keep it true to the original.

I hate you for making me question myself and digging through this thread again to find wtf I thought I was talking about.

Here are comments relating to creating or editing the poll in the OP.

Now, remember, they want our votes for that one, not their own on their forums...or something.
KeilxKey wrote...
tenojitsu wrote...

How come there is no option in the poll for thinking this is a total waste money and quite possibly the dumbest idea anyone has ever had, in all of recorded history, and perhaps since the beginning of time.
Put option in your poll to say how stupid an idea this is, I dare you.
I can't. I copied and pasted the poll on our community site word for word. This is Micheals poll. Not my poll.  We have no, "this is stupid" option on our poll. If there was one, I would do it here to.
what? you are not giving us the option to vote " this is stupid"?
and yet you are demanding Bioware to give you an extra option for ending?

i love the irony here...
Are you even listening? This ISN"T MY POLL. THIS ISN'T MY CAMPAIGN. WE ALREADY HAVE 6 VARIOUS POLLS WITH THE SAME 3 options. If we add a new option now, it won't be fair since people didn't have the full 12 hours to vote.

Quietness wrote...

I think if they're targeting Bioware they're going to target the Edmonton Studios so its both? or one ... i dont know the whole thing is crap.
Whle browsing for a post to cite btw, I completely missed a response from you that I feel I need to clarify, because you seem like a person worth having a discussion with:

And, finally, another direct quote that should go into the OP which addresses the issue that spending $9,000 *might* be extreme:
KeilxKey wrote...

I still don't understand what's so evil about this billboard? What is causing all this hate? We're doing nothing to extreme if you ask me. Maybe the 9k price tag is, but the billboard in itself is nothing to cry wolf about.
UNRELATED (directed at Quietness)
Quietness wrote...
GBGriffin wrote...

Argh, need to stop posting from this phone.

Again, to clarify, "The fans" are funding a 9k billboard to protest free dlc, from a game and a developer that they can't list on said billboard, just because they aren't getting exactly what they wanted and still don't have to pay for it. That us how people who don't care about the groups will see it, and I can't blame them.

To the fans who do not support this, make it known. Hopefully, we can downplay this as the actions of a minority which doesn't speak for all of us. Hopefully, Keil's shortsightedness won't cost the fanbase, as a whole, too much if we voice our disagreement and lack of support.
And this is where we depart, not everyone wanted a free dlc that only expanded upon the endings. While i dont support the billboard(s?). I will remain patient to see what happens, but i am not happy about "clarification" and could care less about "free"(more than willing to pay for real endings)
I don't think my intent was as clear as I meant to make it. That was an example of how this would be spun, not my personal feelings on the matter. I didn't want clarification, I'm not happy about it, but I, like you, intend to remain patient and see. I felt I had to clear that up because I share your feelings :P

Also, my suggestions for relevant info to edit into the OP:

At the absolute minimum, if you decide to keep on purusing this and not shut down this thread, then add these direct quotes:

KeilxKey wrote...

If it doesn't make the goal then we will donate the money to retake me3 new chairity "save point"

KeilxKey wrote...

KeilxKey wrote...

And remove this one until there is a better idea of what is going on and the "listening" and discussion has ended

KeilxKey wrote...

A Chip In will be created tomorrow morning as well based on whatever you guys decide.

This is only fair to the current and potential donors, I believe, as it would alert them that this is not as sound a cause as the first post still seemingly suggests.

Oh, and for those of you who think thet HTL can simply ignore your votes:

Yell loud enough and someone will eventually hear you. The ending dlc proved that. Now we just have to yell louder.

In this instance, take the advice of the OP. Yell louder, and vote...just on their forums ;)

I am done posting here in this thread, I am sure there are PLENTY of level-minded pro/anti-enders alike to keep banging in the message into these guys if need be.

Problem is, if we do that the poll will just be dismissed as BSN'ers skewing the vote.

Becasue the opinions of other ME fans isn't as important.
