Waste of money. Go buy some sandwiches for homeless kids or something.

Go home with your false duality; I've heard it before and it demonstrates a basic misunderstanding about how and why people give.  I give to charity, work with people with disabilities, plan on joining the Peace Corps, and am also willing to give money to promote changes to a video game that I have invested my time and cash in.  It doesn't have to be one or the other and claiming such is either ignorant or intentionally inflammatory.

Smart thinking, OP - this needs to happen.

I would rather you take that money, and spend it on some kids. Give them like marauder shields Tshirts or something, clothe them, better than money on ad space.

we're constantly working on campaigns. this is just one of many to follow!:D

Focus on EA, their corporate overlords. Bioware folk are on these forums already.

Isn't there anything related to charity that Retake can utilize to gain press?

While a billboard would get the press' attention, another charity case would deliver a much better message imo

Because they reacted to the first charity case so well?

Is anyone else wondering exactly how EA is going to respond to this?

Not sure EA would be the group responding to the image.. Has EA said anything thus far? Muzyka of Bioware seems to be the most vocal. Then there are the off-collar responses of Bioware employees on twitter.

Might shake the chain... but I am a bit divided on this. Charity felt better, because someone benefitted from our movement. Regardless of winning or losing, charity is a nice reminder of things that occur in the good-hearted nature of a movement.

All we know is EA is aware that are renting a billboard near there HQ in San Francisco and have given the thumbs up...

If EA approves then what do you really think putting a billboard outside their company will do?

Just thought you should know, that since the majority of the worlds population will not know the details, you will in fact be giving EA free advertising space.

Not really. We aren't mentioning EA/MassEffect/Bioware due to copy right issues which would cause legal issues that we truly do not want to deal with.

Let me rephrase that. A branch of EA, there advertising people, are aware of our actions. The rest of EA is not.

We could just hedge our bets and make an Anniversary of last year's Rapture - May 21st..

Might get more press that way...

We have already tried charity and were met with ridicule and dismissal.  Ad space would be a way to bring public attention to the issue in a new way.  I would, however, ask for a 4th option:  the $9000 (I don't think it would be wise to spend in the tens of thousands) option, but targetted at Bioware instead of EA.

I am home, and a billboard is a colossal waste of money. If you think this is "smart thinking", then I've got some fantastic oceanfront property in Nebraska for you to invest in.

If this is what people are planning on doing there's nothing anyone here can do to stop them. I feel rather indifferent about this but I can deny that's it's a very powerful way to ask for attention.

Your post gave me hope when I read the headline but then it becomes extremely disappointing. I don't know what you want. What are you gonna do with the billboard? What is the point of this? What are you looking for?
You haven't answered simple fundamental questions.

We are going to let Bioware/EA know that we are STILL displeased with the ending. We do not simply want a ending dlc fix. We want a REVISED ending that appeals to all of its fanbase. We are conveying that message with a simple and bold sentence that was decided by the community at HTL that would have the most affect without causing legal and copyright issues.

What are we looking for? Further traffic. There are a MASS amount of gamers who aren't even aware of this issue, so hopefully if they notice the billboard they can join the cause as well. Secondly, press. Various media press, and gaming press will discuss then and we'll keep the "hot patotoe" so to speak on bioware. Finally we'll let Bioware/EA know that we are STILL DISSATISFIED, and hopefully will lead us to a totally revised ending in the future.

Yes, much better than the  reaction this billboard will bring.

We sorely wanted to include names like EA/Bioware/Mass Effect 3..but copy right issues are just a head ache unfortantly. We did the best we could...if you would like to suggest something else than were ALL EARS

People...think about it: why WOULDN'T EA approve? Free publicity! And controversy generates interest in products.

As a publicly traded corporation EA has one purpose (and one purpose only): to make money for its shareholders.

Our original thoughts as well^_^

No nothing "needs to happen" consider this is the most unimportant thing to care about in a long time, and we are already getting dlc. Grow up.

You haven't explained why.  5 bucks from 1800 fans to get their message out in a new medium?  Why not?  All of our grievances have been expressed online thus far...this would put them into an IRL context.

And hey, nobody said you have to contribute.
