Making a billboard after Bioware's announcement is taking it too far. The rage will come back after the EC release, if it is unsatisfactory. All this does is get us unwanted attention. Bioqare is aware of our displeasure.

That's what counts.

Which does precisely dick seeing as they still don't get (or refuse to acknowledge) what we're upset about.

The billboard thing is probably too inefficient. But efforts must be maintained.

Please.  It's been more than a day since you said you might take this down.

It needs to happen.  Before I get a concussion.

ohhhkayyyy...

This is just absurd. If you're going to do something like this, at least wait until the Extended Cut is out to prove... whatever it is you're trying to prove.

If they've genuinely listened to us, it'll be the fix we want for the end, if not and they haven't listened to us then they're obviously past caring.

I agree.

Bioware does not get our point but putting up a billbiard gets us nowhere.

It's been a couple of hours, probably "Jim" is still sleeping it off.

There has been momentum on the actual HTL forums though; their administrator has locked and archived both the poll and donation threads, and formally killed the project for now.

@ Mastermadskills:

The thread has only been open for 12 hours, it's mathematically impossible for them to have decided to close it over a day ago. ;)

A billboard in California would take our "displeasure" and bash EA over the head with it. Being that BioWare is a subsidiary of EA, both Larry Probst and John Riccitiello could order a new ending and that would be the end of the discussion. Getting their attention would circumvent Casey&friends (who are obviously not the competent writing team that put together the rest of the series) and their "artistic vision". Far more efficient to go right for the throat, and then put the reins back in the hands of the people who never did us dirty *cough* Drew *cough* Patrick *cough*.

Oh, and John's got a nice Italian name, so I'd bet he was at least raised Catholic. Maybe we can get his mom to explain how much we deserve a better ending. Catholic guilt can do wonders (I know from experience ;)). If you've got one Irish or Italian friend, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

No dude, you are wrong, read what they stated.

They know why you are upset, but they will NOT change it, it is thier decision, they simply do not agree with it,  it has nothing to do with not understanding it, they just do not want to go with your direction, and right now, all you are doing is just aggraviting an already dire situation.

If you wanted to fix ME, all this negative talking only brings down sales, and with less money it mess less chances of developing further content/ending.... so unless you and the rest of the people who is painting BW/EA to be some kind of monster stop it, there won't even be an extended ending.

You are not doing this cos you love, you are doing this out of your selfish needs. People loose thier jobs this way, and I think people lives and families are more important than what some online nerd wants out of a sci-fi videogame, don't you think?

A billboard in California does nothing. A billboard does nothing. Honestly whos going to see it. No one of importance thats who. You want peoples attention you do it at the studio where the game is made or the HQ where Larry and John are based out of. Not some random any place is good enough mentality.

This is really getting out of control. All you are doing is insulting the developers of Mass Effect at this point and that's not OK. These guys and gals have worked really hard, and are really trying. Regardless of whether they "get it right or wrong" it's not OK to continuously shove insults and hatred into their faces. Hell, I'm not even sure I'd want to come to work anymore after this constant berating let alone want to appease anyone. I certainly wouldn't be putting my 100% into my job nor would I be at my creative best. All your doing is hurting all of us, including yourselves and your cause at this point.

Is there a way we could get their attention without being so intense? I just feel like we don't know what will happen in the future and I don't think this will put our cause in a good light. Should we make such a steep investment in something like this that isn't sturdy?

I just don't know if it is a good initiative we still don't know what exactly we will get in the extended cut. I would say I'm undecided about this whole thing.

No they don't know why I'm upset and they're certainly not responding to it. The  "Artistic integrity" statement (I refuse to acknowledge it as an argument) is bull**** and people far less eloquent than I have refuted it with no sweat. The fact of the matter is they refuse to acknowledge the problem or they can't see it. The RGB is not art it is a nullification of everything we loved about ME. Their decision to keep it is based on either ignorance or stubborness, and neither are particularly trustworthy traits for any company. I don't recall suggesting a "direction" that they find objectionable, nor did I see anyone else doing so. They can write their own damn ending as long as it stays true to their creation. The RGB most certainly does NOT.

I see no need to respond to your attempted guilttripping.

The only ppl that could be insulted by this are the ones that came up with the ending ide. And from the leaks it look like thats the initiative of only 2 ppl. So yeah I see no problem here.

I'd say that spending money on a billboard for this is a waste of money except that'd be hypocritical of me seeing as I sent in money to build a RoboCop statue here in Detroit.

Personally you should add the 4th option of no billboards because not everyone is happy with this, like me.

Right now, it seems to me that a lot of the griping going on is that Bioware won't just "say it". Say what? "Say they're sorry." "Say they're wrong." "Say they love you and will never leave you." etc. I don't know how many time's I've read something to the effect that "I'm mad because Bioware won't acknowledge the problem."

They ARE acknowledging it...EA/Bioware is spending THOUSANDS of dollars in development time and resources releasing DLC for free. To pretend that anyone knows what's in that DLC because they used the vague word "clarifying" is an utter lie. Bioware doesn't even know, because they haven't written it.

No one seems to get the idea that EA/Bioware just can't come out and "Say it.", for a whole host of legal and business reasons. To now sit here and keep screaming "Say it! Say it!" when for the most part, we've got 'em on the ground with their arm twisted behind their backs is to just complete the image of a bully.

Same thing with these stupid billboards.  We're better than that.

They acknowledge nothing. Spending thousands of dollars in the wrong direction shouldn't gather any sympathy at all. If I've got a giant gash on my leg and my doctor insists on giving me a chest X-ray, yes I'll complain because he's missing the damn point! It makes no difference how much that X-ray costs or if he's willing to waive the cost. The reality is they're not acknowledging the huge freakin gash even as its bleeding out.

Patch up the damn leg first Bioware and then we'll glady get all the chest X-rays you want.

It would be best to wait and see what the Extended Cut is gonna be like, they already know that future sales of their DLC and games will be affected by how well they deal with the endings problems with their Extended Cut DLC.

I wouldn't focus on EA, anyway, I can only imagine corporate people in monkey suits laugh every time they pass by the billboard..
