A) If you have nothing constructive to post, please don't post. You aren't adding anything to the board or the thread.

B) That being said, anyone who you'd hope to make aware of your concerns via this method is aware of your concerns. At the end of the day, though, it's your money, and you can certainly spend it however you'd like. But if you're trying to spread your message this is not going to do much more than waste 5$ from 1800 people. Again, though - it's your money.

I Agree.  It's clear that they know what we think.  I think it's painfully clear they know.  There is no reason to do this.  We're now beating a dead horse by doing this.

There is like at least four threads that are the same thing about this. That's four threads too many.

Where's the "this is too stupid for effing words" choice? You people have crossed over into the truly pathetic stage. Raise money for a charity for Christ's sake, not this obssessive compulsive ****.

Yeah, there are tons of other charities out there besides Child's Play. I personally give to both American Red Cross and World Vision each month. I doubt a lot of you would want to give to World Vision as it's a Christian based organization, but I'm sure American Red Cross would be more than happy to take your money and give it to some starving kids in Zimbabwe or something.

I mean if you insist on spending more money on this you really might as well be helping someone who is genuinely suffering by lacking things we take for granted, such as food or clean water.

Did the charity money ending up going anywhere? I thought Child's play turned it down.

Not baiting here, it's an honest question. Where did it go?

So in case people missed this.... the flaming needs to stop. Give your opinion, vote in the poll, and leave. Simple as that.

Would hate to make Mr. Epler's job (or any other mod paying attention) here in the forums any harder than it already is because of this whole debacle.

Not having faith is one thing; funding a billboard to show it us another.

If anything, back (with)hold the wallet. That way, you can tell people that you bought a product, didn't care fir it, and won't buy more..not that you helped fund a billboard after an announcement of free dlc.

Dude just wait until the Extended Cut comes out to see if it actually fixes the endings somewhat before doing some retarded. Plus that's just pathetic.

how does explaining the ending fix how bad it is? I'm sick of hearing wait and see, its not additional endings so we dont want it!

I thought they took what we had made but cut it off before more people gave money. The goal I believe was 100k but it stopped at 80k. I could definitely be wrong though.

Yes, the charity did accept the money graciously.

Raise money for a charity or something and try to evolve beyond the useless wastes of space that so many of these people are. Really, if you want to retake something you can start with your life. Stop playing video games, get out into the world and do something with yourself because you've obviously crossed several lines that shouldn't have been crossed.  "

Heh - interesting and quite funny.
Not something I'd support financially like the charity - but still - I can see the humour in it. :D
I do like that consumers are starting to stand up against the ill-practices of the game industry like Bioware currently is an example of. In few other industries are companies allowed to treat their customers like this.

So .... keep on trucking if you wish to do this; I think it's fun.

@Plageon

How will funding a billboard fix it when they've already announced what they plan to do and have started to plan for it?

You can be hurt and not support them financially, which is fine. Could you honestly tell people you supported this because the free ending dlc might or might not be good?

Really, do you really think that? That only a few people of selected requirements are going to see it?

If the billboard goes up(and I'm not saying I agree), it will definitely make the news, the problem is, as I've said before, Retake are walking a tightrope as far as the press are concerned, their press release will be biased to whichever gets the best rating, I know we all like to think the press are neutral and unbiased, but in the real world that's definitely not the way it works.

It costs as much energy into being against this as to being pro this. So, if there is any chance at all then I say go for it. If one does nothing then nothing changes.

Child's Play ended the charity drive because some donors were becoming confused about what the money was going to.  They were also concerned about their cause becoming linked to one that they don't endorse.  They kept the money but ended the donation drive.

They took it, and as far as anyone knows it still went to the sick children.

They closed it because people started asking for their money back, some people had legitmate claims with IRL issues. A few bad apples thought they were buying a new ending by donating, realized this wasn't the case and asked for it back through paypal. Paypal notified them over at Penny Arcade, they decided to close it because they felt people were using the charity for their own personal agenda.

Still, $80,000 is $80,000. Went to a good cause, and was meant to show the good-hearted nature of this movement.

I agree. This stuff has reached ANOTHER level of ridiculousness that I thought was unattainable.

I just wish people would give BioWare time and be patient for a couple of months, but no.

@ AngryFrozenWater

My concern is that this will reflect negatively on the fanbase as a whole. Look what one user's FTC complaint did. This is fans reacting to the announcement of free dlc that might or might nit be good.

This is ridiculous, and, again, if you're proud of the charity work, tell people about that, but try to distance yourself from this.

Take a close look at this thread, Retake is losing the sympathy vote, like I said before "walking a tightrope"

Well - look what thappened the last time people gave Bioware 'time' and 'patience'.
DA2 and ME3 happened. They got bait n' switch statements from developers before release vs. delivered product. They got not-so-veiled baiting PR spin against them ......

So .... if people wish to keep the pressure up - now's the time to do it, not after the DLC.
