hello,

i've been waiting patiently for this patch for the past couple days. unfortunately the patch will not download. to clarify my situation, i work overseas (middle east) and yes, downloading is slow, but atleast its getting downloaded slowly but surely. STEAM works, Games for Windows works, SWTOR works even combat arms works. all these programs update properly,  yet origin won't patch.

i've been playing the MP with some lag but not heavy enough to make it unplayable, so we can rule out (being too far away" so why is it i cannot download this patch? is there a region lock on origin?

if i can't get any help then i guess i'll have to play without the patch. if the patch won't work, then the DLC won't download either. guess it's goodbye to the multiplayer and hello Arkham city, skyrim and SWTOR.

Well, I'm in the US and have the same problem, both now with patch 1.02, and the first three days after release with 1.01. I have the Collector's Edition (disk) and all of my extra content and Ashes DLC downloaded immediately and without issue. However, when attempting to update the game, it either gets stuck at the "preparing" stage or starts off at "0 kb of 0 calculating" and never is able to get started.

Today was no different. I have been unable to download 1.02 since release, but this afternoon I was able to download Resurgence on the first try and in just a few minutes. Surprising, given that a lot of people seem to be having issues.

I've tried all the little suggestions EA has put out there (disabling UAC, clearing the download cache, clean re-booting, etc.) and none of them make a difference. When I finally was able to download 1.01 on March 9th, I did it automatically after launch, with UAC on, the program not being run "as administrator", or any of the other strategies EA has offered. It seems clear to me EA needs to reconfigure their servers a little to accept requests from people who are forced to use proxy servers (knowingly or otherwise). It seems like this is more of problem for people outside North America. I found it odd that in one chat session, the EA service rep kept asking if I lived in Europe and didn't seem to believe me. It would seem there are more problems with Origin than they would like us to know. So much for it being a harmless interface that in no way affects game play. Would it really pose such a risk to make the patches and DLC available for direct download through Bioware Social for registered users?

I'm having trouble updating as well. Nevermind this resurgence pack. I don't see a shred of it. It's the same problem. Origin starts up, asks if I want to download, but never actually downloads anything. It's the strangest, most annoying thing.

I'm having a similar problem. I've downloaded resurgence and all my dlc's for the N7 edition no problem, I got the first patch no problem but the patch I need to download so I can use resurgence isn't working. Every time I try it just keeps downloading more information, I tried just letting it run its course but it downloaded 5.6 GB of the 80.5 MB it needed.
I've tried re-downloading many times, restarting origins, and restarting my computer but nothing seems to work.

i agree. downloading straight from bioware like before was much easier.

@Burahn     yea, that's exactly what happens to me. now that i remember, this happened to me on BF3 early last year. i didn't address the issue due to the fact that i was not planning on playing BF3 with horrible lag from overseas. regardless, this leads me to believe that there definatley is a region block or lock outside the US and some parts of Europe. this needs to be removed or fixed. i can update all my other software except from origin -_-

Same here, patch is not downloading, resurgence pack won't work if the patch for ME3 is not installed.

after pain stakingly troubleshooting my origin game, it came down to, "EA is aware of this issue and is working conituously to fix the problem" so all i can do now is wait -_- each day my galaxy at war readdiness is dropping and i'm not sure whether the prothean DLC will have a big impact on my game ending or not. i'm going to finish the game w/o the patch but i don't think i'll be playing my renegade campaign afterwards.

Same exact problem. Origin prepares download then sticks at calculating forever. Download sticks a 0% for as long as I am willing to leave the computer on.

zeph08, you actually got someone at EA to acknowledge the problem? That's a start. I'm still being ignored.

i should've taken a snapshot =P i think it was just a formal way of saying, "LEAVE US ALONE !!!" live chatted with atleat 7 personnel. but, they finally admitted to it, but i'm not sure their working quick on it.

i had the same issue on BF3. working overseas and couldn't get a patch to download.

so I finally got an error message and it's Error: 111 researched it and it turns out EA's provider blocks certain countries and users had to resort to using VPN's or proxies to be able to download updates in their area. I thinks it's ridiculous to have to resort to doing that...thanks EA

this issue is now fixed due to Origin no longer being in the beta stage. I opened Origin last month, it updated and was able to donwload ME3 patch.
