you have to manually search for the game to update,so just right click on your game in origin library and check for update and it will then work correctly.

I wish I could say this was entirely true considering that what I had to do, I did just last night (Oct. 4th, 2012).
I had initially launched ME3, and gotten a pop up about a patch, with a progress bar that went nowhere. It quickly disappeared, but the game started slowly after I clicked Play. I closed it, and went back to the client screen where I tried to manually get it to confirm the patch was in place by right clicking and checking for updates.
It hung on this screen for several minutes without results, checking for an update. Finally, I closed Origin via Task Manager. I launched Origin again, right click, check for updates - same thing. I kill Origin one more time, and when it comes back up, I do a Repair Installation this time. It shows a progress bar that updates as normal, then indicates that the repair is finished..
At the end of this I right clicked and Checked for Updates and it immediately returned that the game was up to date. No more hang. The game started immediately when I chose Play.

I f**king hate origin. It should put down like racing horse with no legs. Straight in the head. There was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH JUST DOWNLOADING THE PATCH FROM THIS SITE, not waiting for bollocks piece of software to think that it knows my PC and my internet connection better than me. F**k you EA, and f**k you Origin. Die already.

I take it back. yet again, upon realese of a new MP DLC, the patch will not download hence making me play solo...again
atleast this wknd op was simple to do and I should be getting the comms pack once this is over. anyway, fix origin....AGAIN!!!
