Keep in mind this process is long so only do so if you have the time.
Step 1: Create to saves I.E: Ostagar and Ostagar2. the first being a backup.
Step 2: Sell DLC dagger, ring and dragon plate. Save on one of the two saves you made.
Step 3: exit the game and go to downloadable content and disable the three item dlc.
Step 4: reload the save and do a force load. Once in game save.
Step 5: Exit out again and turn the dlc's back on and reload the save.
Step 6: Rinse and repeat as many times as desired.
This is an easier way to earn 9-10 gold each time without having to worry about leveling or gaining exp to fast. So far I haven't run across any bugs or glitches due to this process but that's what the second save is for just in case. Enjoy.

that is a good way to make money yes, but alot of players don't use the toolset nor have downloaded it. because if you make one mistake your entire game is corrupted or so i've been told.

you could just enable the console and give yourself as much money as you want which is shorter than Matt's idea

again not alot of people use the console, and by using the console if you add to much your money is glitched in the negative.

well if they want to use the toolset or the console then by all means whatever is easy for them, this is a way for people to use something without fear of corrupting their game ^_- enjoy the easy money people who intend to use it, if you have a better way then enjoy that way too. peace payday so i'm out for the night.

Using a trainer would be shorter of course.However if you are afraid of losing your savegame and fear that you may do something wrong in toolset then you may simply just create an item and set it's price as high as you'd like and sell it off to nearest merchant for money.And you may even spawn it every time game loads.So you will always have some valuable thing to sell when you are out of cash.

another way to make some cash for the console folks is to sell Potent Lyrium. you make about 22 silver per. buy the lyrium from the circle then the rest of the mats from the bartender at the tavern in denerim. it can be slow but 22 gold profit per stack isn't bad.

way too tedious way to make monies , i used the console plenty of times to add myself money and i never got glitched as you said , a faster way to make money is to make traps at Lothering then give them to that quest girl you can do it as long as you want and you get xp too , well it will stop when you complete a first ally quest tho but if you want money and xp it s faster than enable/disabling stuff
