It doesn't have to affect me for me to think it's wrong.

They agreed to the Terms of Service. The Terms of Service that we all agreed to. They then broke their contract with EA/Bioware. As such, they- very simply- deserve to be banned or punished in some way. I'm not saying they will. I'm not saying I'm jealous. Or mad. I'm saying EA /Bioware is fully within their rights to ban or punish those people, because they did something WRONG. They are effectively liars and, whether you want to believe it or not, cheaters.

They will have no right to complain if action is taken against them. At all. They have no right to say that they don't deserve to be punished. They do. It's as simple as that.

Fair enough. Although I'm unsure if the TOS mentions exploiting, as opposed to outright hacking. I will need to ream them again, maybe. Or do you have a quote at hand ?

Second question : If you witness one or multiple players engaging in credit glitching. Would you report them ? Why or why not ?

But why would you want to force people to play the way you prefer instead of letting them be ?

Thus, effectively going back to JasonSic's question : How does this affect you ? Because it does affect you in a certain way for you to want to ban/reset their accounts :P

DISCLAIMER : I haven't tried the credit glitch

I'm curious, did you read the terms entirely?
Do they actually tell players not to abuse un-patched issues within the game?

In the modern world of gaming, that'd be pretty silly.

Yep. People have to agree to the ToS to use the EA Online Service- and anybody who wants to scan back over the ToS can click it there at the bottom-right of the page on this site. Specifically here is the quoted section:

11. Rules of Conduct

You may violate the Terms of Service if, as determined by EA in its sole discretion, you:
... - Abuse or exploit bugs, undocumented features, design errors or problems in the game.

So no, you most certainly do NOT have to hack the game to get banned. Exploiting bugs has always been a bannable offense in every other multiplayer game in the past, whether it's PvP or PvE; it's not a new concept.

And to answer your question: Yes, I would report them. I obviously think it's wrong, so I would certainly take the 10 seconds necessary to report somebody for something I don't think they should be doing.

It's one thing to make a mistake and release a bug in a game by accident.
It's another thing entirely to go out of your way to exploit said bug.

Out of those two, the people exploiting are pretty obviously the ones in the wrong.

I repeat: You have to seriously go out of your way to ABUSE this problem. This is not something you can just stumble across over, and over, and over. You obviously know, when you do this, that what you're doing isn't a part of the normal game, and as such, you realize you are taking advantage of the problem. That is wrong. That is against the rules. That's your own choice, and that's a bannable offense.

I got into a match this weekend where they were trying this glitch ( I must have been away from the lobby when they explained what they were doing ). So I'm the last guy left completing the disable device task and this guy is cussing me out for not dying because I'm gonna wreck the glitch - wtf.

I don't like this glitch because it will dilute the value of the packs and us honest players will have to either play longer for or pay real money to get the new stuff.

If you think about it from Bioware's point of view - they want to make money by selling the packs and people paying real money to get them. If everyone has tons of credits, then bioware would just reduce the frequency that "good" new items show up in the packs. So this makes it even more difficult for honest players to get good stuff.

I agree, they should patch it.

I also agree, they should punish people for it.

Maybe they will, maybe they won't. But I'm just saying, they should.

Yeah but it doesn't affect you in any way shape or form, you remind me of those annoying conservatives who harp on about gay marriage when it wouldn't affect them a single bit, obviously one is a much more important issue, but in essence it's the same thing: Someone harping and complaining wanting to punish people for something that doesn't affect them any way.

Anyone exploiting the glitch should be able to do it if they want. The store system as-is is horrible and designed to make people want to spend actual money in EA's "micro-transactions". It takes 30 minutes just to buy one pack on average, not to mention the majority of the time people get character cards that they've already maxed out and not weapons they want. It's a horrible store system designed to frustrate people. People who are smart enough to find a way around it somewhat (And I stress the "somewhat" part because even if they get alot of credits quickly it doesn't guarantee that they will get anything they want out of the packs they buy) should be applauded for not falling prey to a marketing scheme.

Honestly I've never tried the credit glitch, I don't know anyone who does it and most people are too afraid to try it anyway. Honestly you are very annoying, you've been on here for two weeks ranting and raving about something that doesn't affect you or anyone else in any way really. The only one being hurt is EA/Bioware because peopel aren't falling prey to their market scheme, and honestly I'm happy that people are hurting their profits in this way, because it's a really crappy way to squeeze money out of customers who already paid for a 60$ game.Image IPB

Incorrect. It's more troublesome to play legitimately and get **** random packs.
Which is why there are so many of these credit glitchers doing what they do.

I understand their motivations, but I do not condone their approach to solving the problems with the store.
Oh, and if you take a peek at the leaderboards.... VVBlessedVV is a credit glitcher.

In fact the entire top 100 are credit glitchers. I know this because I have played with almost all of them and they talk about doing it all the freaking time.

So, my question to BioWare is this.

BioWare, your MP Leaderboards have extremely skewed results due to a credit exploit that has allowed the worst offenders of said exploit to sky rocket to the top of your "Leaderboards". Now that NO LEGIT PLAYERS have a chance of ever catching up to these cheaters through legitimate playing... WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?

That's a pretty ridiculous accusation.

Let me put it to you this way, without getting into some huge political debate ( because you decided to drag this in here ): Gay Marriage is about a human's natural-born rights as a person. It doesn't affect me, or anybody else, and the government allowing Gay Marriage would not harm the actual government or it's "profit margin". Those are RIGHTS. That is something entirely different from this.

The online services provided by EA/Bioware to you, are NOT a right. They are a PRIVILEGE. You may think you are entitled to them, because you paid for the game- but what you paid for was, in fact, the ability to play the game. And you can play the game, as long as you follow the rules. Just like every other online game BEFORE now. You have your single player campaign, and you can abuse that all day long if you want to. If you find an exploit in SP, go right ahead. But no matter what you say, it is NOT your right to abuse a bug in the MP section of the game, and it never will be.

If you don't like a product- guess what? It is your RIGHT, as a consumer, to stop using that product.
That's what you can do. That is what you are entitled to. To stop playing.

But if I don't like a certain restaurant- say, a buffet- that doesn't mean I can pay for buffet access, and then start stuffing as much food as I can into my bag, and say I'm entitled to it because I paid for buffet access. Why would I do that? That's dumb. You are obviously going to get in trouble if you do that, and get kicked out, and not get your money back. That's not how a buffet works, and that's certainly not how online services work.

I repeat: NOT LIKING how a product is handled is NOT A REASON to abuse it.

The only way their going to fix this is if the problem gets out of hand so here is how to do the glitch.(Did it twice to confirm it)

-Have a full lobby of people who know the glitch

-Set the match up for Firebase White the enemy Geth and run it on Silver

-Play the game like you would normally but when you reach round 10, if you get the "activate the devices" challenge, complete the challenge than allow your team to die

-when you come back to the lobby switch it to gold and start the game

-whoever is host must leave the game immediately so the host switches and somebody sends the person who left an invite back

-It would start at round 10 with the "activate the devices" challenge

-Everybody would most likely run Infritrator to avoid death

-once everbody completes the challenge, everyone dies again

-and then rinse and repeat from the part of host leaving

Now the bioware staff knows how the glitch is run and maybe now they can fix it, since more people know about it now that might add some incentive :/

P.S. I punish myself for doing the glitch by not playing for a weekend :P

BioWare is probably already aware of this, but the likelihood of them dealing with it all depends on how many people A; know about it, B; use it, and C; how they think it will affect the gameplay.
Personally, I just play because it's satisfying to get Collateral Damage with the Widow.
But that's just me.
Not to be rude, but why does this matter to you?
There is no PvP mode, and I'm not aware there will be at all.

well put about why do they care people relly need to stop complaining about it. It don't effect you or have any impact of ur game. If you end up in a lobby thats doing it just leave.

sorry I don't like blessed much but I'm not going to sit there and have you call some 1 a glitcher because he high up in the leaderboards. In fact the credit glitch will not get you high in the leaderboards at all. Simple because you would earn more exp more by just playing and buying packs then you could do just credit glitching.

So before you go pointing a finger at people think about what your saying and don't call some 1 a glitcher just because your incaipable of getting high up on the leaderboards. Blessed is up there because he plays with 2 people playing 24 hours aday and putting money into the game. As for the rest of the leaderboard top players we play alot of hours and don't take to kindly to people thinking we hacked the game or something to get were we are. The game has been out for over 4 weeks and you could easy do 1000 ranks in a week before they downgraded the xp. Gold game we would earn around 500,000 a game with in a 30 minute range now games are lucky to earn you 350,000 xp
