So, what do you guys personally feel is the biggest problem with the ending?  Please list your choice as A - H first before/if you explain why so I can tally them fast!

A)  Plotholes
  The story itself (aka, God-child)
C)  Simplistic final conflict (choose Red, Blue, or Green)
D)  Past choices have too little effect in the endgame
E)  Lack of an epilogue (what happens to squadmates/allies/LI?)
F)  Shepard dies!
G)  Endings not distinct enough
H)  Other (sorry if I forgot one!)


From what I can tell, Bioware is attempting to fix both A and E, which is fine...but I don't think these are the big issues fans want fixed.  The purpose of this poll is to see if I'm right or not!

Tough to choose just one, but my answer is: C. My reason for choosing C over the others is that if the endings were complex enough, A, B, and D would non-issues in most of them.

I think I would put them in this order:

B - I really hate that little bastard.
A - Depends on how you define plot holes. Reaper motives? How Synthesis works? Up here.
C - The choice felt like a rip-off of DE:HR's ending (most fresh in my mind).
D - Really? One number is all that matters?
G - They couldn't even bother to give them different cutscenes?
A - If it's stuff like why Joker skipped town, I would put it down here.
E - It would be nice to know what happens to everything we care about.
F - It's fine as long as it is fitting.

Seriously, the ending couldn't have been worse, and it should have been the easiest ending to write, Here is why!

The ending should have been a culmination of all our efforts over the last 3 games to confront the reapers, win or loss, it should have been directly impacted and a result from our choices, success and failure over 3 games. Instead, it was a cop out sloppy mess that resembles something out of the Twilight Zone.

I laughed at the poll because they're all big problems with the ending.  Which is... sad.  But humorous.

A, C, D, G, and E. They promised the ending would take care of all of this, but it did the total opposite. And you can blame EA for the poorly done ending because they are the ones who wanted it as open-ended as possible to expand on the franchise and continue to use Shepard and the characters for future Mass Effect games to make more money. Hopefully, the Extended Cut will at least gives us some satisfaction. Just be prepared people Mass Effect 4 is in the works, as much as they deny this is the end of Shepard's story, that is way far from the truth.

Also, I am not saying this because I want them to continue to make more games with Shepard, in fact I wish they would just end the Shepard saga in ME3 and give us all what we wanted in the ending. I want to see what else BioWare can do without using the Mass Effect name, but I guess EA just doesn't want their money-maker, Commander Shepard to get a satisfying send-off as much as we do.

Overall execution. Most of the things in the ending are incredibly vague and confusing, and at the end you are left wondering what exactly happened.

G really is the most atrocious for me, really you came up with that lame of an ending sequence, and didn't even bother to make the cut-scenes different?
