The fact no-one has said F makes me happy. I am sick of the happy ending brigade making people think we want an ending where Shepard and LI get kittens and live on a rainbow

I do not mind Shepard living, or dying - or...well, on a 2nd thought I think I'd like Shepard to live, but if not, so be it.

the synthetic argument, its so stupid, you cant even argue thats just their view on it because they have helped the geth (synthetics) against organics twice now >.>

I might be in the minority, but I would've been significantly happier had you fought your way to the Crucible controls and either succeeded or not based on EMS. No final choices. Just you win or reapers win, depending on how well you united the galaxy.

From what I can tell, Bioware is attempting to fix both A and E, which is fine...but I don't think these are the big issues fans want fixed. The purpose of this poll is to see if I'm right or not!
My choice: D
Every plot hole is a result of a story that completely ignores the entire rest of the story.
The simplistic final conflict is a result of this flawed premise that the way to resolve the conflict with the reapers is to resolve the (already proven non-existant) conflict between organics and synthetics.
Past choices don't have any impact because the ending of the game is an entire story in and of itself.
Lack of an epilogue and Shepard dying are the result of the fact that the ending replaces Shepard with the starbrat as the protagonist of the story, and relegates Shepard to the role of plot device. It is starbrat's decision to end the reapers, it is starbrat's decision how to end the reapers, and Shepard takes on the role of random chance that starbrat uses to decide which method to end the conflict.
And the endings aren't distinct because the plot of the ending is so simplistic that there's not enough there to differentiate the choices from one another.
In other words, the ending was badly written and fundamentally flawed.

Oh well, too late, these are in order with what I found most disappointing first.
D- I just don't feel like what I did really had any impact whatsoever on the ending...
E- I just spent 3 games getting attached to these characters; I want to know what happened with them.
C- Need I say more...? A whole game made of variety and choices, reduced to this.
F- I don't mind that it's an option but I would have liked to have the chance for them to survive...and/or not be stranded half dead under rubble in the middle of nowhere)
G- While I thought the endings themself were pretty different, the way they were illustrated was not. There were a few thing’s extra blown up, but other than that the colours were different
I don't like that a few things don't connect and there are a few plot holes in there that I take issue with, but I can just roll my eyes and move on with most of them. Well okay maybe the fact that Kaidan somehow got onto the Normandy and abandoned me after being on my squad on Earth was a bit strange...but yeah...
...Ok I lied...the plotholes and story bother me too...

Also, why the Geth, Edi, Shep's synthetic parts, and the Mass Relays have to be destroyed with the Reapers in the Destroy ending. Also why you walk towards and shoot the tube in the Destroy ending.

(1) The lack of an explanation for the cycle that makes sense
(2) Shepard's blind trust in the Catalyst's words.

And why shouldn't we want that? I'm sick of the emo-teenagers thinking that the only way to have a truly artistic ending is if everyone dies and the ones that don't end up killing themselves because life is pointless and cruel.Skitzophreak wrote...

You can have art that is uplifting. You can have art that inspires. You can have art that honors sacrifice while still providing a happy ending. Think Lord of the Rings. Everyone survives overwhelming odds, and they all live happily ever after. Bad guys dead, good guys win, hero gets the girl and becomes king, other hero gets the girl and settles down in the shire, annoying hero goes away forever - everyone happy. Nothing wrong with that.
And in a game, where the whole point is to have a goal to work towards, I want the possibility of being rewarded with a happy ending. If I wanted an existential lesson on the futility of life, the illusion of choice, and the insignificance of the individual, I'd follow politics. That's not why I play games. Sure, include the bad and bittersweet endings for those that didn't prepare enough, but there should be a reward for those that put in the work to get it.
