I just don't understand why anyone would think this would work after what they said at PAX. I'm all for one with changing things you don't like, with in reason obviously, but this is just to much. Child's Play, even though it fell flat on it's face, was a great idea, it helped kids. The cupcakes, while awesome in their own sense, helped kids out in the end, so was great.

This, this doesn't help anyone. It just hurts those who are putting their money into it. I mean, if they really want to, fine. It's better than insults and injury to other people. This billboard though, it's just going to stand there, as a testament of apparently 20grand, that could of actually done something.

Really should just do another donation drive, don't ask for any publicity, give it to Child's Play as an apology, and then just keep things low key. The message has been heard, BioWare responded. It sucks but you have to move on. Make your own ending and stop expecting BioWare to make one for you, because they already did.

Are you saying that EA defending the inclusion of same-sex relationships in their games is a bad thing?

Even though EA only did that for monetary reasons (bigots make up a very small portion of their customers), I also fail to see how EA telling them to go pound sand is a bad thing.

It isn't.

But EA leaking that information to the press at the same time that they are being voted the worst company in America is exhibit A on why most gamers despise the company.

It is a PR strategy from EA that is practically shouting, "No wait, we are the good guys" while at the same time attempting to subtly paint everyone who voted against them as a homophobe.

Same hate was given to Activision, till they merged with Blizzard. Now you rarely hear anything about them because people moved on to hating the next big corp. Happened with Sony, Square Enix, Capcom, Take Two, etc.....Publishers get all the rage because when your on top your a target.

EA has been loathed for nickel and diming people for a long long time. The whole thing about EA defending the inclusion of Gay and Lesbian content is just good publicity. They don't do it because they would support that cause, but it has the potential to increase their sales.

EA forces people to use Origin because they know very few people would do it willingly, they rush games with potential. They aqcuire talented developers, profit from their ideas and then they tear them apart. Let me just name a few: Pandemic, Mythic Entertainment, Bullfrog, Origin Systems and Westwood and now they're all dead. Lets not forget about their online passes and their DRM too which screw the customer more than they screw pirates.

Next Activision, they develop Call of Duty games on an yearly basis as a result they milk the franchise and screw it up so bad that soon it will be defunct, they add a facebook copy called Call of Duty : Elite and charge the almost the same price that they would for the game. The worst part is that people are stupid enough to pay for it, so when do they start forcing everyone else to use it to actually play the game because that's where its going. 

Let's not even start with UBISOFT a company who's very good at alienating their fans, releasing unfinished games unfinished games which they don't even bother to fix afterwards. Then there's their terrible treatment of the PC, they institute DRM policies that just like EA screw the customer worse than they do the pirates. 

That's 3 very big corporations that publish a lot of good games and they're all money hoarding abusers which continue to screw their customers. I don't know which "future of gaming" you're talking about because this is only going to get worse if nobody does anything about it and that would be no future for me. Retake is an example of what needs to happen, it is an example of what people have to start doing if they want to stop these abusive companies, otherwise expect these people to start selling half a game for $60 and the other half for another $60. But go ahead and believe what you like, call Retakers a bunch of entitled whiners, it's your opinion after all.

It'd make more sense for Childs Play to apologise to the kids.

I'm not trying to sound preachy, but apart from the whole "ridiculous exaggeration" thing, I also believe that if someone slaps you, then you slap them....well...first of all you made yourself as bad as them, and secondly it'll just turn into an endless slapping match...

And here come the personal insults. I wondered how long it would be, not to mention the OP's implication that anyone who supports the Retake Movement is 'clinically insane'.

I'd love to know who so many of these pro-Ending types are always so aggressive and confrontational when they post, it's like they are personally affronted by the fact that we don't blindly and passively support everything Bioware does without question.

Besides... a billboard isnt what Id go for, but its still a decent Idea. Id have gone for some commercials at the nearest busstop and the buslines that transport people to and from work at bioware. But a billboard does send a message.
