Besides... a billboard isnt what Id go for, but its still a decent Idea. Id have gone for some commercials at the nearest busstop and the buslines that transport people to and from work at bioware. But a billboard does send a message.

I was thinking more along the lines of a blimp that just circles the building 24 hours for a month we could get the money and it would be so much more in your face kinda message plus who can resist looking at a blimp??

But to answer your question yes the retake grp are sane and have lives they just make time for this on the side the same way they would have to play the game.

ah yes the so called 'plotholes' the very thing poor Bioware has to explain to you because you didn't get it the first time. I still don't see why you feel the need to complain though, isn't it technically your fault for not 'getting it'?

So... you get it? Explain to me please.

If you can explain all of that space magic then you'll probably earn yourself a Nobel Prize. Go ahead.

He can barely explain his position, I doubt he'd be able to explain the plotholes.

They can express themselves however they want as long as its harmless.

Im more concerned about people expressing themselves by destroying property and killing people

I can no longer "hold the line" just because it seems Retake is obsessed at this point. The amount of time, effort, and money that is being spent is becoming unhealthy.

This.

I'm started to wonder if for some people, this has gone way beyond just hating the end of a game. They seem to believe that they are some kind of crusader, and they are getting a lot of positive reinforcement on this forum so that they are starting to believe their own importance. This is unhealthy. Really, it's time to get a grip. If something makes you so desperately unhappy, you have the power to move on. You haven't witnessed a murder, voted in an incompetent president, married the wrong man/woman...this is just not worth it anymore. Invest that passion somewhere more positive.

The amount of time being spent complaining about Retake is equal to, if not greater than, the time Retakers spend complaining about the endings.

I'm sorry for those that can't realize that because it doesn't fit well with their established and unchangeable agendas.

I dont see how this isn't "acting their age". Even if it wasn't EA doing things like the following justifies it.

www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2012-04-04-ea-defends-itself-against-thousands-of-anti-gay-letters

Uh, I'm sorry...

Are you saying that EA defending the inclusion of same-sex relationships in their games is a bad thing?

How about, like the donations to charity by retake, not simply motivated by a commitment to forward thinking and progressive ideals toward gender and sex equality.

How is buying billboard space going too far? Seriously, I could understand if the Take Back The Ending Movement were doing something illegal (posting any such activities would probably get me arrested, so I will just say I condemn illegal activity used to get the end changed in every possible way) or incredibly stupid (having the entire movement dress up like characters from Mass Effect stand outside Bioware offices in Edmonton Screaming, "I'm Commander Shepard and this ending is a piece of ****," at the top of their lungs), but what the movement is doing is buying freaking ad space. It's not a big deal, and unfortunately, will probably be ignored.

Step 1: Cupcakes
Step 2: Billboard in a city.
Step 3: Billboard on the moon.
Step 4: ???
Step 5: Create/fund their own development company.

I know 1-3 either have or will happen. My only question is how long they'll be on step 4 before they finally just do step 5.

Pretty sure BioWare got "the message" quite some time ago. If the upcoming DLC doesn't appease, they'll likely either go further (alternate ending optional dlc's, etc) or leave people with something to the effect of "sorry you didn't like it, hopefully we'll be able to make the next game more enjoyable for you".

I can't see the billboard thing helping matters. It's turning into an "US vs THEM" for some people and I can't see anything good/positive coming of it.

I hate the endings. But I wouldn't go this far. Personally, I don't plan to buy anything from Bioware again. Give away all the free content you want. For someone that really has integrity, it doesn't matter, because they won't touch it.

This is how one plays the integrity game and wins.

At some point... y'all ARE going to realize that you're just throwing money away.... right?

BioWare's announced what they're going to do. Putting up a billboard, sending cupcakes, putting cupcakes on billboards... whatever... won't change that.

I mean... you DO get that, right? The game is over, the fat lady has sung, to keep throwing money away is... well. I WISH I had $16,000 to just waste. Let me put it that way.

that is just one fool's way of getting attention. Spending money on a billboard, its just a game! I may want a better ending, but not to that extend.

@Father

Agreed. Its time people show some Integrity and stop wasting money. If they stop and think about it, the best way to hurt Bioware an EA is not to buy anything from them. But they actual have to show that they are willing to do this.

That's where real integrity come into play.

What happened to just buying ads on the bus stop across the street from BioWare HQ?

But whatever. The worst it could do is make them look foolish. The best it could do is increase pressure on EA. Regardless, it'd help keep the road free of tasteless casino and adult nightclub ads and other rot.

People can spend money however they choose. Personally, I'd keep my money, but I'm not going to tell somebody else how to spend theirs.

You know what the fun part is of throwing money away for things like this? It is money which EA and Bioware ain't getting and they will see/notice this.

Of course it is. The same way it's the victim's fault when they realize someone has stolen their possessions. Obviously they screwed up. Oh wait...

Honestly I don't see why anyone would have a problem with this. It's not like they are hurting anyone and it's their own money, they can do whatever they want with it. Live and let live.
