No? While I disliked the ending the game was amazing and MP was also amazing, AND on top of that they are now doing exactly what I wanted with the end.

Listen to this guy.

How dare they give us free updates to both SP and MP parts of the game? The nerve.

MP = awesome. And this is coming from someone who HATED the idea of MP being introduced into ME3.

So did I. Was completely against it, and eveything it stood for....and I'm still enjoying it.Posted Image

The MP Is loads of fun. I honestly had fun with the games, and yes the end was disappointing, but really - it's just a story that didn't end how you wanted it to. If you don't want to play the multiplayer, that's your loss.

If you hate the ending and what Bioware has done to it and want to send a message regarding the **** slap they just gave you by insulting you even more with "Extended DLC", then stop playing multiplayer or buy any DLCs.

We need Bioware to applogize twice now.  Once for the ending and once for the insulting extended DLC.

Their idea of fixing the problem is to fricking extend on it and add more salt to the injury?  How stupid are they?

Yes!  Please stop playing multiplayer.  I think this is a great idea.  Leave us positive gamers, who love the game to play MP.  If you are one of the gamers who feel that you are owed an appology, for a developer making the game they want to make,  I really don't want to meet up with a gamer like you in a MP match.  You should go play COD or something.

I support this tread, and I hope to not see you on any of the new DLC maps that I just downloaded this morning.

No. I love the multiplayer, and I intend to play what I payed for. I don't shell out for Xbox Live just to let it sit there. Besides, as already pointed out, I paid for it. I'm not going to just sit there and let it go unused.

I won't pay for any future DLC until I'm satisfied that the ending has been addressed sufficiently, and that may or may not occur when the EC comes out. I need to see it first, or hear more about its content. Ultimately that's far more effective.

Did they? I've seen that quoted on an IGN page -- since retracted. But I've never seen a Bioware source for that figure.

Can you show me one? This has been bugging me for weeks.

How about you stop trying to tell me and other posters on this forum what to do? You don't enjoy the game? Fine. But stop trying to get confirmation of your opinion and your actions from others. It shows a very weak personality.

Don't be too hard on the guy. He's got a real dilemma here. Retake was a very big movement when it included everybody who was dissatisfied with the ending for any reason. Now Bio's going to fix some issues, but not his particular ones.

A lot of people here don't understand what it means to actually protest against something.

I'm not advocating this, but this request (at least I take it as a request) is a whole lot better than the whole billboard thing. Refraining from doing anything with Mass Effect (playing the multiplayer for example) highlights an issue which needs to be investigated. If it's learned that people are abstaining from playing multiplayer because they're unhappy with the ending it says something to EA. Reasoning that you already spent the money so you might as well validate the money you spent by playing multiplayer sends a mixed message and prevents what you want (if you're for getting a new ending) from actually progressing. It actually forces stagnation.

Remember the protest that was widespread across several states here in the US? Illegal Aliens and Legal Immigrants didn't go to work. Think about that for a second. These hardworking people abstained from working to send a message to everyone and the government. Keep in mind that they were willing to go as long as it took for people to get the message. So these people weren't going to make any money to feed themselves or their families to send a clear message that they were needed and could never be discounted.

Apply some of that to this situation and you can see how deciding to not use anything relating to MP could also send a message to EA and Bioware.

The difference is that in this case no one is going to go hungry from not playing MP. The companies that put out ME3 will have to re-evaluate how they do their jobs which is supposed to be the point of a protest. You sacrifice so the company that bears your ire is forced to look at themselves and question whether they're really doing something positive or worthwhile. The worst they can do is ignore the message and continue business as usual which only serves to hurt them in the long run.

This is from someone who's not of either camp, but because I've actually been part of protests in the past (not an organizer) it bothers me when people have a cause but try to make excuses for engaging in the very thing that has brought them disappointment.

In short, I'm saying that you have to pick your position: You don't like the ending and are not concerned with having Bioware change/fix it, you don't like the ending and are waiting to see what the extended cut brings, you don't like the ending and want to see a change/fix, or you don't care about any of it.

You can't be disappointed with the endings, want a change/fix, but balk when it comes for you to sacrifice something you enjoy to send a clear message about your displeasure.

Now, I've left this general and haven't quoted anyone because what I've said might not apply to everyone.

I will not purchase DLCs but you can bet your bottom dollar I'm going to play MP as long as it's fun. Might as well get my money's worth since the SP ending was such a let down.

Right... People... Stop having so much fun with the game!!

Don't you realize there a few people out there that are trying to rant and rave about the game being worthless and junk? If you all keep playing and enjoying yourself... you are hurting their "cause".

Yeah... sorry tried to help you OP, though I didn't even convince myself so not sure anyone else will buy that either.

I understand what you're saying but I don't think it's been thought through completely. I myself have been tired of MP shooters for about a year and a half now. I mean there's only so many times you can use a sticky bomb, there's only so many times you can knife somebody, and yes, sniping does get tiresome. There are many people who feel the same. Tired of zombies, Madden and the such but ME3 MP gives them a different setting. Sure it's the same thing really in a plethora of other shooters, just graphically different but more people are still going to play it in the sense that they feel as if they are playing something different.

I never had a problem with the MP or the people who play it. I do understand wanting to boycott it for reasons that are quite evident but it's not going to happen. All of this madness can be totally resolved if BW/EA just admits that it was a prideful decision. I don't think they need to hold a full blown press conference for an apology instead of just fixing it. There is an old saying that has been translated many ways, "Disgrace is before ruin and pride of spirit before misfortune." Roughly translated into the more popular quote of, "Pride comes before the fall."

So take heart. Allow other to people to play something they feel is an escape for them. But just steel your resolve and know that BW/EA knows that the ending is broken and that it would be far easier to just truly complete it other than trying to cover it up with additional scenes. I see many people on both sides filled with pride but if the initiative was taken to find a real compromise then all of this would be over. But pride made BW/EA say this is what we are giving you. This is all the core players deserve. If you don't like it, don't play it because now we have a new group of online and casual gamers to take your place. They haven't said this towards anyone verbally but this is how I'm feeling due to their actions. The media and some people on these boards call us the "minority". That's alright because when that "minority" is spoken to in a condescending manner, when that "minority" is ignored, and when that "minority" isn't respected as they have been, then many will see just how "big" that "minority" really was, and just how quickly that "minority" became the "majority".

The great thing about ME3 mutliplayer, is that it actually seems to have a point, and you don't get shot in the face by a 10 year old screaming obscenities at you through his headset. Nor do you get a 30 year old acting like a 10 year old, screaming obscenities at you through his headset and generally acting like an immature brat.

Can't stop what I never started nor intend to start, but considering that MP numbers and appearance of success is what fudging the EMS realities of SP prior to release was about, I agree that there should be no reward in MP popularity or statistical validation for such tactics whatsoever.

Um, no. Multiplayer is fun, and the Extended Cut DLC is free. I fail to see an issure here. I didn't like the ending just like most people here, but for me it's not that serious. At the end of the day, it's only a video game. Really unimportant in the grand scheme of things. I play games to have fun, not to make a statement. A game that's 90% good is still a good game in my eyes.
