There will never be a consensus on the ending, just like there will never be a consensus on the ending of The Sopranos. The consensus is specific to a group of people. A lot of players liked the endings if not loved it altogether. The survey itself is offensive to those who do and assumes that the endings are unequivocally bad (which is false). For example, I liked the concept of the Catalyst, and his logic was already faulty to begin with: the argument that Shepard provides is enough to make the Catalyst rethink his position. While more dialogue could be a possibility, I think brevity is better in this case because a verbal diarrhea tends to make the viewer uninterested.
Also, Shepard was knocked out for God-knows-how-long, so the Normandy escape scene and the idea of ships and nations "starving to death" is flat-out ridiculous: if you actually read the Codex, you'll find that many ships can travel extremely fast and make it to their home systems. Besides, what makes you think that every single member of every single species is on Earth?
Third, the themes from the trilogy were many throughout, and there were many hidden messages that the players drew out of. Each experience was personal in the sense that it forced you to elucidate a theme (hope in a meaningless universe, for example?), and there wasn't any clear-cut unifying theme. Moreover, closure in storytelling can be a bad thing sometimes, and given that this was told from the perspective of a man or woman who is on his own and sacrifices himself or herself for the safety of the entire galaxy, I think adding closure would be unrealistic: you've been given enough closure as to the stories of these characters and how they relate to your Shepard. As for the mass relays, read my sig links.
Also, I strongly disagree that your previous decisions were irrelevant (see my sig links again). The fact that you saved the Rachni Queen, for example, and find her embedded in Reaper tech makes you wonder as to whether saving her this time would be the right thing to do. The companions in ME2? Biggest examples are Thane and Kirrahe: if you didn't save them both, then the Salarian councilor will die. And war assets? They do matter: if your war assets don't meet the minimum, then you don't have enough people fighting the Reapers, defending the Crucible, or even building it, hence leading to a premature detonation of sorts that backfires due to the lack of manpower and brain-power involved in such a project.
Overall, this survey is a joke.
Thanks very much for the feedback and taking the time to write so much. I'll be sure to take this into consideration if the current questions are updated or a new supplemental survey is added.
We already know what % of people liked the endings, there is a poll with over 70,000 responses, and 8% of people liked the ending.
You may feel that your previous decisions were represented in a satisfactory way, however more people picked this first (67%) than any other choice in any category in the survey.
The purpose of this survey is to look at the people that dislike the current ending, forcing them not to simply pick one from a list of 10 or 15 things that bother them but to rank the issues that bother them in the multiple categories. The final question allows you to weight the value of your responses in the first four groups. This creates a bias towards favoring the lower ranked choices but when the final results are completed we will adjust for that.
I tried to put in the issues that were mentioned most in all of the videos/articles etc. I saw, its not an endorsement of any/all of them. It was an attempt to try and list the issues that represent the vast majority of the problems for the vast majority of the people, organize the issues into broad categories, then use ranking instead of a select one choice type of poll. The more specific the poll gets the more exclusionary it becomes, so its a balancing act which clearly can't satisfy everybody all of the time.

I'll pass it on to my relevant character specific threads and the Retake Deviant art thread.

These are the kinds of things BioWare and EA should take a VERY hard look at if they want future viability for the brand.
Kudos to OP

In all honesty though, you just have to hit their pocketbook by taking yours elsewhere. Buy games from good companies like Atlus, or From Software. There are plenty of decent companies that you can buy games from.

Bioware have made clear that they do not give a flying **** what we think, so I don't see this helping. I don't see it hurting either, so I went ahead and took it.

If they can only address a few of the issues it would be great if they could be the ones that bother the majority of the people. Hopefully the final results of this can help contribute a unbiased answer to exactly what is most important to the people with issues regarding the ending.

I posted about this in a topic, now locked, called, "ARE THEY SERIOUS. On page 14, a Bioware guy did respond, basically telling me that his and his buddies desires are far more important to him than making things customers want.
There's no hope, you just have to hit their bottom line and take your business elsewhere.
