Are we talking super extreme awesome insane? Or space magic insane? I'm guessing it's the latter, but..

So you are saying to enjoy the ending we should embrace insanity - an state of utter senselessness?

what were you smoking when you finished the game. I might try it if it's going to make the ending bearable

Those who like it the least are those who understand it best.

Well theres the lack of closure, lack of logic, lack of key themes that were present throughout the rest of the series.
And a starchild godlike creature introduced in the last 5 minutes that claims he controls the reapers and explains how we must solve the synthetic/organic tension within 14 lines of unquestionable dialogue.

Oh and theres also an interesting youtube video that plays all the variations of the ending played side by side, another great example of an amazing way to end a series that tells you your choices matter.

The endding is insane in that only the mentally ill can 'understand' what it means and still enjoy it.

Yes, it was insane.

You know why it was insane?

It took my 150+ hours of gameplay across all three games, all the miniquests in ME1, all the stuff against Cerberus in ME1, all the random stuff in ME2, the loyalties, the Suicide Mission, Hell even the DLC for ME2, then added all of the beautiful scenes and dramatic moments across ME3's first 99.8% of the campaign into a mixture, stirred it gently, and set it to a low-boil to cook like delicious gumbo.

Then it dumped this mixture into the dirtiest toilet and shoved my face in it. It takes a special kind of insanity to do all of that just to show me that nihilistic crap mixed with the best metaphorical-gumbo in this dimension still tastes like nihilistic crap.

Insane... a variety of abnormal mental behavior or patterns violating social norms and becoming a danger to themselves or others... the question is do YOU understand the ending. I would describe it as literary incoherent with the rest of the story line.

Yeah it was insane.
Still I don't know why I'd have to like it. I'm not crazy to like insane endings.

WHere to start:
- Lack of coherance
- pissing on the central design of the series
- pissing on the central theme of the series
- pissing on the central tone of the series
- crashing the central message of the series
- profoundly failing to give any indication of how things turned out
- introducing the worst character in gaming history (starbaby)
- outright destroying everything you spent 3 games saving
- leaving a univrse with no hope of survival or prosperity in th near future
- breaking every single promise Bioware made leading up to the ending
- No options which allow you to choose a decent ending
- No Shepard protesting the catalyst
- the stargazer talking to boy scene which basically told us "you sillly children"
- topping it all off with the "buy more Ovaltine" advertisement!

And that's just off the top of my head.

Not appreciating a swirly from a game company I respected as paragons of the gaming industry makes me soft.
