Title pretty much says it all. Holdtheline and RetakeMassEffect.org have merged (see link below, third paragraph). This means Retake is on board with the billboard by default. Sorry, but dont want to be associated with this mess. Anyone else jumping the Retake ship?

EDIT: It has been brought to my attention that the facebook Retake group is not the same as the Retake website mentioned in the link above. Apparently there are multiple Retakes at this point.

This makes me feel sorry for the facebook group, as they DO NOT AGREE with the billboard idea. However, the fact that one Retake is linked, the Retake that was interviewed by Forbes, will make all of Retake linked to this debacle.

I agree, I was never part of retake despite hating the ending. But this is just sad.

Wow, I didn't know that happened. Looks like I'll have to find a new banner for my signature...

This seems a little silly. You'd break up your own cause because of one mistake?

Well, whatever.

can't they elect some sort of leader and vote on these sorts of things? It seems like one bad idea gets forced on everyone.

Nope.

The more notice the fiasco gets through news / word of mouth the more bug gaming companies will not jerk around their customers. Its the only way the suits will listen if you want to improve your hobby. (Gaming)

I still support the ideas of the movement, but I do not want to be associated with a group that is doing a stunt I find destructive to the movement as a whole.

I'm really not a fan of this idea. The whole thing that was great about the child's play campaign was that it had a positive effect regardless of what reason we were donating for, regardless of whether or not the ending was changed or given closure. No matter what something positive had come of it.

This just seems to be a waste of money that could be spent on another charitable or otherwise positive campaign.

You don't have to have group with you to leave, imo.

Why not just leave?

HA!

Leaves because of this? I left when I got word of ending DLC, then I decided to give BioWare a chance and wait it out until the summer. Then the "Hold the Wallet" (<--LMFAO) movement started, now this insanity.

Lunatics, I say.

Yeah, this is venturing into crazytown. Billboards by themselves aren't even that effective.

Not to mention, after really thinking about the ending for a looong time, I have at a minimum some respect for it. I'm not saying I really agree or like it, just have a little respect and can see some good qualities in it. Here is the link to a post I wrote about it. I have to warn you, its fairly long.

Makes
bit more sense than holding the line imo. But you don't need a group to
do that. I stop spending money, when I am displeased.

That's my way of
protesting.

The "Hold the Line" movement is behind the billboard, not the "Retake" movement.

Now we are seeing that the ones creating these movements are the REAL indoctrinated foes!

That's all fine and dandy, but the "Hold the Wallet" movement spawned out of the response to FREE DLC. That's why I find it so stupid.

Is retake actually doing the billboard, or just some random people who belong to it?

Yeah, but there's a Forbes article stating they're merged. Doesn't matter what actually is, that's what it'll be in people's brains now.

And if you think any news outlet will differentiate between the two I have a nice bridge to sell you.
