I signed up on HTL, but I only just found out about the Billboard thing (haven't been very active lately). I agree with OP that it's a bad idea. There's still debate within HTL, however, so I don't think it's a sure thing yet. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail.
Right, but there are people arguing for just that on the thread. Hopefully the people in charge of HTL will listen to their fans *cough cough*

Wasnt it the BioWare folks who made the announcement, not EA reps? I know that they are owned by EA, but I like to think they havent been totally corrupted yet. I dont like EA as much as anyone, but what do you think, they will say there will be an extended cut DLC and then they wont make it?Darth_Trethon wrote...

I'm sincerely sorry for you that you think putting billboards in EA's face is pure genius. They've announced free extended cut DLC. It may be good, bad, great, terrible...who knows. Until we know, all of this is excessive and unwarranted.
Yes....trusting EA promises is a great idea...

Remember BioWare promising us closure, multiple endings and telling us how great the ending would be?
Trusting them to deliver on this promise is like playing russian roulete with five rounds chambered and one empty slot.
That was pre-fiasco. BioWare are making this DLC to directly address clarity and closure. Sure, I would love more than that, but as far as clarity goes, that's the point of the DLC. I think thats something that's really a safe bet.
At this point nothing would surprise me. If they came out with a 30 second wall of text with poor explanations I wouldn't be surprised....I can only believe it when I see it. I cannot begin to describe how much their deliberate and complete lies bothered....all on top of Origin's privacy issues and EA stating that players should pay just to load a save are extremely troubling to me. My experience with EA's customer service or lack there of does not help reassure me that they give a damn about their customers.
As an opposite example....Microsoft has been bashed plenty but of the dozens of times I talked to their customer service both via phone and via twitter they have mostly been helpful and always competent.....NEVER clueless....unlike EA. So I always had some ammount of reason to trust they'd deliver. Now with BioWare and EA....I do not.

BioWare also made the false promises and blatant lies about closure and endings prior to the release on ME3...I don't know what to believe from them anymore either.

I understand that the Facebook group doesnt support holdtheline, but as I already stated a few times in this thread, Forbes reported that Retake.org merged with holdtheline. Do you really think people will bother to do the research to know that the Facebook group isnt the one that merged with holdtheline? Does it even matter? Reputation of Retake = tarnishedGrimskull89 wrote...

I saw lots of links which to be honest I really dont feel like following at this point. I'm going off of what Forbes said. If I see an article from them stating that Retake didnt merge with Holdtheline, then I'll consider jumping back on board the Retake movement.Grimskull89 wrote...

Funny, was just on the holdtheline site and I noticed a link to the Facebook page the instant I landed on the page. Not to mention we are bunch of trolls for not supporting the billboard idea, lol.
Well members of the HTL community want to unite with the FB page...
Go read the comment that Moelander posted on page 2 of this thread.
Well what Moelander has in the quote box comes from post that the FB page had up I think last friday. It is, as it stands the last thing said and their current stance.

Exactly. Besides, I trusted Bioware to give me excellent Mass Effect games since the first, and so far they havent let me down.
Sure the endings were disappointing, but the game overall was amazing - so I think Bioware deserves faith in this.
Also, I think this whole billboard idea is bat**** insane. I cant see anything positive coming from this. Its just so sad.

Haters just wanna hate, so keep on hating. The more reasonable part of this will take a step back and try to engage in dialogue with BioWare regarding the extended cut, not throw billboards in their faceDarth_Trethon wrote...

This is a bit to much for me. Better give the money raised for the billboard to orphans or something. I don't know what is going on but it's crossing the line imo.

Oh who the hell cares what one group is doing the point is we all hate the ending. If this get's more attention to us the better.
That kind of thinking is part of the problem. If we want BioWare to listen, we have to show that we are reasonable. The extended DLC tells me that someone is listening, though maybe not in the way they'd want. If BioWare really didn't care, they wouldn't bother.
Stuff like the billboard is just petulant and unreasonable. We have to give BioWare a fair chance if we are to be taken seriously. Otherwise we'll fully deserve criticisms of whininess and entitlement.

No I don't want to hate but I remember who owns them and how little they cared about lying to us about the game. I absolutely cannot trust EA and I cannot trust BioWare to not do something if ordered by EA. I sure hope they deliver.
But back to the billboards, they really aren't the end of the world....just a little reminder that we're still very much watching. Plus if aimed at EA then that really shouldn't be an issue with anybody. The money we pay for BioWare products go to EA.....so should the consequences. Plus EA is in desperate need to be reminded that we won't be that easily pushed around.
This reaction is interesting thoug....as soon as I brought the blame at BioWare's feet I get to be a hater....have I said something false? Have they not shamelessly lied to us in the worst ways possible without consideration or care?

It's not like we are firebombing EA it's a freakign billboard for pete's sake which will be looked at at forgoten within 5 seconds by most people some might get curious at what the hell is going on and they either agree or disagree. I'm not spending any money on it if they want to it's their own bussiness.dallicant wrote...
