Definitely still not working properly.
As you can see the conversion itself isn't too bad but there is no scarring as there was in ME 2.

Wrong hair and hair colours on 2 out of 3 tested imports, and an incorrect face shape on 1 of the 3 (both fails are female)

Xbox 360 didn't get any kind of update, face import is as broken as ever.

Mine still doesn't look right. Luckily I managed to recreate her awhile ago (something my bro couldn't do with his male Shepard) and have finished the game, just wish I could have started with some of my scars, still she looked right enough by the end.
