Haven't read much up on the lore, but from what I've read so far, it seems that if there were a family of dwarves that lived away from lyrium long enough to evolve, it could happen.
Might be wrong though. There's always a freak mutation, I guess?

Dwarven mage would be interesting.

There is no record of there ever having been dwarven mages, though thre are lots of records of surface dwarves. The tie between lyrium and dwarven inability to perform magic is only supposition. It would be interesting to see if that cute little dwarf does any research into the matter, but I think it would be a pretty cheesy NPC.

Maybe, but if they do it right, it could be pretty interesting.Sloth Of Doom wrote...

Other than that... a few more companions with romantic options would be good. Two mages, two rogues? Couple of more elves and dwarves?
Anyway, what are the chances of BioWare throwing in more companions?

Of course, more "weird" characters like Shale and Doggy works too. They're funny, cute and very useful early game before the equipment lacks make them sub-par.

Slim to none.
this.
The party is overcrowded already. But I hope that an eventual expansion gets an entirely new cast.
Still, I think there will be plenty of mods with "new" party members soon enough (I kinda wanted to do one myself, but it's just too much work

Every companion we have should have something more special, right?
