I'm currently playing a fighter/thief. Just wondering when is a good time to dual class Imoen to a mage? Thank you.

Dual her to mage when you need a mage...If you are playing a vanilla cannon (good) game then Dynaheir will probably be worth your while to collect and having sis able to cast spells ( like ‘Sleep’) makes that simple.
If sis gets killed then there is always Safana but you shouldn’t need a mage any way with eight other NPCs’ that can cast arcane spells for you.
