I have to say after the extreeme dissapointment ME 3 was for me, and the obvious flaws in DA2 i was not verry optimistic about any new Bioware game. However after watching some crappy youtube filming from the dragon age panel. I have gone from "meh" to ill probably preorder CE edition.
Several reasons for this. What little they showed was extreemly promising, and the non PR bullcrap honest statments they came with. Straight out admitting the flaws, and that they should make this and that better. This is a rare thing, and in my mind sets the scene for another GREAT dragon age game, ala DA:O (my favourite game ever, besides KOTOR).
Im really looking forward to the reveals coming, and i have for nopw high hopes about their statement they will show the prosess, and welcome feedback during development.
As a suggestion to BioWare, maybe start upp a new forum for DA 3, when they start to put out some stuff they want us to respond to. Will be better then clustering all to this forum.
Im giving you a last chance BioWare (at least coming to preorders, and CE), i hope you will deliver, and bring back what to me is the best franchise you have (yes DA>ME for my sake, i like magic in the RPGs i play).
And you should give Laidlaw a raise, he is in my opinion the most honest and trustworthy bioware employe you have right now. His no bull**** responses to critisism, and flaws is refreshing. You are the only developer that makes games i like. Bring back the glory of Bioware games! Make a new ****ing epic GOTY tale.

I give Laidlaw a lot of credit for being open and receptive to a lot of the criticisms of DA2. But I also think at the same time that he just is never going to make the same kind of game that his predecessor, Brent Knowles, did. They have two completely different tastes.
I do think Laidlaw approached DA2 in the beginning in completely the wrong way, with an attitude of changing as much as possible just for the sake of changing it. He came across in the beginning as arrogant and frequently trashed DA:O in interviews. It's not surprising given his more console-oriented background. BioWare was surprisingly verbal in their reasoning for wanting to attract a new, bigger fanbase with DA2.
I think they've been humbled a little bit. That's the tone they seemed to set at PAX. I hope they're sincere in their desire to attain feedback with the fanbase rather than their bunkerdown-changeeverything-callofdutycrowdwilllovethis-awesomebutton-attractnonRPGplayerstoanRPG approach. Obviously won't really know for a while.
I'm not ready to pre-order, I skipped out on buying Mass Effect 3 which is the first (PC) BioWare game I haven't bought on day 1 in a long...loooong time.

I've gotta say I'm a lot more excited about DA3 than I thought I'd be, especially after the ME3 endings. I wouldn't say I'm at the pre-order phase but as they start to confirm whats going to be in game I can see myself becoming more hopeful about the game.
... Though if I'm honest all it would take is for them to tell me they were adding an Orlesian ball and giving us Cullen as a companion/LI and I'd probably scream the place down and order CE a year in advance LOL.
