You know, all this giving lessons and saying "I expect you to..." as if you were an officer or something makes you sound like a huge douche. I don't expect you to see it my way, though.
I expect you to keep your dress uniform ironed with a crease, belt buckles and shoes shined, beret free of all lint, and miscellaneous debris, I expect your service rifle to be in top order, I expect you to not act like a jackhole in gold matches and rage if you die from running off on your own.
I expect you to realize this is a team effort, you are not John Rambo, you will die if you try to be a hero.
But what do you care about my expectations Marine, you just want to kill things.

God, so much this. Buncha video-game generals on ME3 multiplayer.

The games where this happens are usually the ones where we end up losing on Wave 5-8.

This might seem... odd... but the console comes with a mic headset. I know this because I own one. So... don't have mics? Was that supposed to be funny? I am mildly delirious from lack of sleep and can't compute.mijames1 wrote...

That would be nice but in my experiece 98% of ME3 players dont have or dont use mics. On XBL anyway

Well, not counting the time some idiot with a level 10 character hosted a 'silver' room and then immediately switched it to gold the last second of the start countdown. That lasted a wave and a half.
But, my first three REAL gold matches all were complete successes, totally textbook with full extractions etc. and I was just a mere Turian Sentinel with a mk V hornet. Blasting my tech armor a lot. Which worked most of the time. And nobody tried to kick anyone.
Basically it turned out that the only major difference between silver and gold is that the elites show up a couple waves earlier and in greater numbers. As long as you're in a good position, working together, not panicking, and watching each others backs, there's surprisingly little difference between one phantom/atlas/gethprime and three of them.
But then, I think the "working together and watching each other's backs" part is probably the most important. I've seen a lot of silver matches go downhill because some point-monger decides they're going to run to the opposite end of the map and fight some phantoms solo. And die. And get the rest of us killed trying to get to them.

Fun that way.
Also when people turbo off on their own thinking they can solo 50 guys just because they are behind in points.

3 Engineers on the team, Geth, Firebase white? I guess it's as good a chance to try my Infiltrator (lv 20 Quarian I would note as someone was helpful to point out that Quarians can hack the geth to help) since someone will need to get the objectives and revive right? Get kicked.
No one will kick you for being a level 20 Quarian Infiltrator playing the Geth unless they are saving the last spot for a friend or something like that. I would welcome a level 20 Quarian Infiltrator in my party any time of day. The only classes that I have some restraint to are Krogan Soldiers and all Vanguards. Most people can't play the Krogan Soldier effeciently on gold (myself included) and the Vanguards glitch to much and to often.
I don't expect anything from teammates when joining a gold match. But one thing that can be a little disturbing is the lack of knowledge among players about where spawn zones are. Regardless of which map we play it is almost a death sentence to let enemies spawn behind your back or around the corner. I've seen this countless of times on maps like Glacier, Dagger and Giant. Even if your team occupy the ladder in White you have a pretty good shot of making it anyway, that also goes for Reactor. But on Dagger when 3 of your teammates occupy the tower you are often left with the choice of letting the enemies spawn to the left, right or behind your group, and a couple of minutes later you die.
I agree that you should let the Infiltrator do the nodes objectives. But the problem is that the Infiltrator don't always see it as his responsibility which means we are just wasting time relying on him to do the objective.

When I go gold, I want to play the game.
NOT go around reviving people and basically soloing the game.

See? Now you are doing that thing when you are speaking like a huche douche again. I don't feel pressure because of the game, I once entered a Gold match with Krogan Soldier by mistake and it took me 4 waves to realize it wasn't silver.
What puts pressure on me is people kicking me for not being the class they want, people kicking me for not having the weapons they like etc. Oh, and people acting like obnoxious CoD kids who think they play much better than they actually do.
Put simply: I dislike Gold players.
I feel completely and utterly entitled to be a douche. Yes, I openly despise those who can't confidently handle Silver, then join Gold and expect you to resurrect them every time they fail like a Bronze player would. This happens all the time and it is pathetic. Sometimes telling the truth, or at least openly and accurately describing ones own experience makes one come across as a douche - I don't care, I'd rather have the truth out and say it straight.

Mine's pretty similar to the OP, because it seems like every time I cloak to get that objective, someone decides to protect me...by standing right on top of me. Those atlas rockets you brought to me and all the bullets that missed you but hit me right behind you? Thanks for that!
I always found it it best to be in the same approximite area as the infiltrator, just in case something happens. Close, but far enough away where gernades lobbed at me won't effect him.

You don't want people to flock around the objectives? That'll work until one lone enemy decides to kill the guy doing the objective.
Not much of a gold player if he gets killed by one lone enemy. Anyone with any sense in their head would make sure there are no enemies in the immediate vicinity, then cloak, then do the objective. If they get fired upon afterwards, it's either easy to deal with or hard to deal with, and in the latter scenario you may have to use an Ops Survival Pack or a Medkit, big deal.
Alternative: whole team do the objectives but only three people are fighting. Either the three people are competent players who can handle it, or not all of them are quite so good and the infiltrator ends up having to resurrect everyone repeatedly and work it up from there, which can cost you the game.

I'm kinda glad that I don't play Gold with you then. Here's the truth said straight: if you feel entitlted to act like a douche during a game, you are a douche.

Because the ****ty things that micrsoft call xbox headset mikes are uncomortable as hell and give headaches after a single game of use and we don't want to waste 50 bucks on the micrsoft branded crap?

I expect to be able to play the class I want with the weapons I want. I don't give a damn about your super cool strat for this map against these enemies. (not directed at you, OP)
You'll need to start your own game, then. There are classes that are an automatic fail at gold and I won't play with them. Why spend 30 minutes earning little or nothing when you can play with the right mix and be successful?
