I agree with the OP.
If the extended cut is to be just cutscenes, give us at least 30 minutes of pure epicness of everything in the ME series coming to a head. 30 minutes should be enough time to showcase all the war assets, decisions, past/present teammates, other characters, etc.
Greatest hope is the extended cut will give the ME series a proper ending based on the player's choice.
I don't think mere cutscenes would cut it for me (see what I did there?). I want to see my assets fighting alongside me and my team during gameplay, not just in some cutscene I cannot interact with. The war on Earth needs to feel like an actual war, with allied troops, trenches, air support, tanks, etc. I want to see, in gameplay, other Alliance soldiers fighting with Turians/Salarians/Krogan/etc. against a unit of Reaper troops and Shepard being able to assist, having the ability to call on air support to blast a group of Brutes/Banshees, maybe even pilot the Mako again to escort troop deployment. And I really REALLY want WWI-style trench warfare!!!
Is it too much to ask?
OdanUrr, You know what could have been great here?
Is instead of fighting hordes of enemies over and over in Priority: Earth...that your squadmates from ME2 as well as ME3, plus various assets were shown on the ground fighting.
For example: The mission should have had twists and turns that involved your past squadmates (and if they were dead, you have a chance of losing your current ME3 squadmates). When you are getting over-run at the thanix missle, let's say Grunt and Zaeed come charging over the hill to help you with a cut scene AS WELL as in-combat.
This could have been done in various ways leading up to this point in the mission with other assets...but, no.
