Sadly, you are most likely correct.
It appears EA's grip on Bioware is getting stronger by the minute. Probably will end up like Westwood, Origin, DICE etc.
EA Bioware/EA Edmonton is going to be the new brand.

This will also give people incentive to replay the game. I didn't do the Elcor mission on either of my playthroughs., but if I knew there was a cinematic showing Elcor tanks I would make it a priority.

And the longer you keep disc in drive the more likely people will pay for DLC.

Totally backing the OP up on this one. If we're going to spend an entire game rallying every advanced species in the universe into a combined military force I want that to mean more than the difference between the number 2500 and the number 5000. I want to see the impact of what we did.

I fully support this. It should've been in the game at launch imo.

As a matter of fact, I'd go even further with it. Allow Shepard to assign tasks to different groups in London (like the Suicide Mission in ME2). Maybe you could assign a group leader as well - like pairing Samara with the Serrice Guard, or Zaeed with the Blue Suns.

Here's the thing - most people who aren't interested in MP don't want to be forced into playing it. It's bad enough that those of us who want 4000+ EMS but don't play MP need to edit a save or the Coalesced file - a lot of people want *less* MP integration, not more.

The OP topic is something I've been kicking around here for a short while now. While there are Sword "good" and "bad" files showing EMS results upon the war, there's only End01_HammerFail. That's where the EMS suddenly stops having any effect on the story -- the Hammer massacre. From there, all the cutscenes are the same, pre-rendered (see data files on PC) or real-time (play the game), until the inexplicable Star Child.

I want to see that EMS matters all through the ending. I want to see damage to the Crucible as it docks if there is low EMS. I want Shepard to die at Harbinger (real-time cutscene - very moddable and versatile, but not necessarily easily moddable) if the EMS is below a minimum requirement, ending the game. I want something to show why Harbinger missed a direct hit on Shepard and left the scene (again, real-time cutscene) when the EMS is high enough. I wouldn't mind seeing a bit of battle-scarring on Harbinger at that (real-time) scene with an even higher EMS. I want EMS to affect the gameplay action encounters along the way to the transport beam.

I would also like rewards for even higher EMS (over 7000 is possible), such as being able to focus the Dark Energy on just the Reapers for the Destroy option (killing Shepard again at a certain level -- the beam concentration is more focused and more intense, but not focused enough and Shepard is too close -- and Shepard breathing at an even higher level -- the beam is so focused that it only partially affects Shepard at close proximity).

I want to see an option to tell Joker and Cortez to grab survivors and run or stay and fight after getting up from the Harbinger laser. There should be cutscenes showing how the Normandy is fairing before that point. With too low an EMS, they die if they stay. With high enough EMS and they stay and fight, Joker survives first adding more and more with higher EMS. Fleeing always maroons them with more survivors at a lower EMS score than staying and fighting. Given how the survivor scenes are real-time, this is something that is also wide open on possibilities.

Most importantly, show the unity among all of the above, some coming to save eachother, helping out eachother - this would be great. It would be nice to see the Squadmates of ME2 fighting together -

Example: Kasumi helping out Grunt or Zaeed helping out Samara - combo's you wouldn't think to see.

This would go a long way to providing an impact and feel of "realism" in the galaxy we each crafted and provide some sense of completeness toward the ending; Seeing all the people we recruited fighting alongside eachother. It would make the ending more agreeable alongside the clarification intended in the DLC as well.

I again humbly request this be included.

And AND, make the ending cut scenes wildly different.

If I pick control, have the wave only give control of the Capital ship Reapers or something. Then when a destroyer lands to kill those marines. Harbinger squishes him. We can see the other Sovereign class reapers wiping out husk armies or killing destroyer fleets. Something more epic than just 'they all leave and hurrah you won'.

If I pick synthesis (my least favorite by the way, but it seems to be your 'best' option) Show me in the ending why its so good.

Maybe Joker's Vrolik syndrome is cured. Maybe it turns Husks back into Humans. Maybe it restores the Earth. Anything to make it unique.

Or if I pick destroy. Give us some Reaper explosions. This would be a great ending to showcase the fleet getting torn up defending the Crucible, and then the red wave hits and the tide begins to turn.

How is inserting a couple of skins in a cutscene "forcing you to play MP?" :?

It certainly wouldn't force me specifically to play MP, but there are a lot of completionists out there who would see it that way.

Also, why do you have something in quotes that doesn't resemble in the slightlest what I actually said?

edit: and, and I don't have to see the Elcor stomping thru w/ canons , or some such, strapped to their heads/backs.

I did however think that maybe i might get a glimpse of something like that if Shepard rescued their ppl.

But the Rachni..yes. I've been waiting since ME1 to see the Rachni vindicated and kicking some Reaper boootay.


There was just so much sweet, sweet Gloriousness to be had! Geth/Quarian; Krogan/Turian; Kirrahe----Hold the Line! Jack, miri, Jacob. Just...they could have done sooooo much. So much potential was there.

I...I still don't understand. Why?

When it was actually over (because I was in denial until..After the credits were done) all I could think was , "Noooooooooo!"
