Dagger "Fang" (veridium)

However, this is my second run of the game playing as a city elf, and I still get Fang in a poor quality version.

Instead of Dragobone (sp) verson, I keep getting the veridium verson, I mean I am level 21, how do I get the good quality, such as Tier 7 verson instewad of Tier 4?


I wish they'd patch this stuff soon; I guess we have to wait for Awakening though.

Only the console versions seem to upgrade, the PC version of the dagger is locked at veridium regardless of what you try except modding it with the toolset.

Shame for you PCers, I am on console and it is awesome at tier 7.

There seems to be bugged items all over the pace I wish they'd just fix them. On console there are still items we can't get that you guys on pc can just put into your inventory.

No, you get it at the end of Unrest in the Alienage if you are a City Elf Warden (and didn't accept Vaughan's bribe).

@DJ0000 - I'm on PC, my CE endgame saves were too big to open in the toolset, but Winter Forge came through (even though I couldn't initially figure out how to do more than upgrade materials in the latest version)...so my Fang came into Awakening as a T8 dagger, the little brother of Starfang...

I just looked and my Fang is a dragonbone, no mods as I'm on a PS3. My female city elf fits the exact profile described by Finnegone, not that it necessarily proves anything though, lol.

eta: well, except that it does exist :P

Just ran across this thread while trying to figure out what's up with the Fang dagger. I'd run across plenty of posts by folks with dual-wielding city elves using Rose's Thorn and Fang in the endgame, and was wondering why I wasn't getting the snazzy great dagger I'd looked forward to.

Oh, it's because I have the PC version. Right. No good Fang (because it makes sense to be giving away veridium weapons this close to the endgame). No Ancient Elven Boots (but who'd want the whole set anyway)? And so on.

It can't be too hard to patch these things in, can it?

Ah well, I ain't holdin' my breath. I'll have to get by with my two Thorn combo.
And hey, they've been busy making April Fools gifts for us to buy, so it's all good. Right? Image IPB

I also got Fang at Tier 7 on my CE. She killed Vaughn and took sole responsibility. I'm at work otherwise I would make a screen shot. I play the PC version.

i got my t7 around level 21. i didnt take vaughns bribe and then took sole responsibility but dunno if that makes any difference. you couldnt have given it me right at the start dad? really?

 So it's possible to get Fang T7 on the PC? How odd. I also didn't take the bribe and took full responsibility, and got Fang at level 21. It was veridium. Sold it to a vendor and it didn't get upgraded.

Maybe the Maker just doesn't like me. :(

I'm happy for you, MarkyBoy, but that doesn't really help any, because we're talking about the original campaign.

... Or does it? I've used the Toolset to peek at the resources in the game, and indeed the material progression for the Fang dagger in my game is veridium only. As others have said, it is indeed impossible for me to get Fang at T7. It could be that Awakenings has effectively patched the data for this dagger for you, making it possible to get Fang at T7 while playing the original campaign.

Which is great for those who've bought Awakening. For us un-Awakened players, a patch would be nice.
