So based off of your admittedly unscientific count we can conclude that there is a significant number of Liara romances throughout the series, followed by Tali, Ashley, and Kaiden following closely behind. Now, part of this is obviously the bias of availability from Mass Effect 1. To better understand the data, we would need to track the number of switches. Interstingly, Tali defies this bias and one might conclude then that Tali has unusually high popularity despite not being a romance option in ME1. Garrus and Miranda are easily the next most popular, which makes it seem unusual that Miranda did not get better treatment in ME3 - this means they made Garrus the "cut-off" point for squad-mate romance and anyone from Miranda down got the "second rate" treatment.
This seems like a poor decision to me, because the obvious fall-off actually starts after Thane and Jack. Everyone after Jack is not very popular, but it seems to me that many people were very attached to their romances when it was anyone on the list from Jack on up. Perhaps Bioware should consider this if they decide to make any kind of additions to Mass Effect 3 to better cover love interests. Relative to their popularity, this poll DOES show that Miranda, Thane, and Jack kind of got the short end of the stick. Thane should still die, mind you - he was terminal to begin with (so people romancing him know his death is imminent anyway), but I think he could still use additional content. It would definitely be awesome if Bioware could find a way to expand all three of their roles (and I would totally pay for that DLC - as long as Miranda was one of the ones with a little more screen time).
TL;DR: It might be a lot to ask, but if Bioware can find a realistic way to give Miranda, Thane, and Jack more screen time - this data shows that there are people who would proabably eat that up (myself included).
