Exactly like mine, but it has evolved into not authorizing my single player DLC as well. What I don't understand is why the PC version even has an online pass. Origin is required to play Mass Effect 3, all DLC is obtained from Origin, an Origin account is requied to activate the game and manage your single player saves and multiplayer manifest. The online pass is just an additional requirement that serves no purpose. What they should do is eliminate it. All Mass Effect 3 has to do is check the Origin account being used for 1) Owning the Game, 2) Available/Purchased DLC. That's it. Mass Effect 2 had a cached file that contained encrypted/hashed values for content that you owned so that you could play offline, but also so that it only had to check if new items were added. Right now, the game checks with the EA servers every single time and takes so long when it would be simpler to just let the origin account do all the work and only do new checks when new content is installed. Since multiplayer requires an internet connection and there is no LAN component, having an online pass doesn't make sense (other than to not allow used game sales). Treating customers by always assuming that they're up to no good isn't a business model that I'm willing to support anymore. Additonal layers of DRM only hurt the legitimate customers while the people pirating can enjoy their game without any hassles.

I tried repairing the install, updating the install.. it just would not authorize.
Anyone had any luck with anything besides repair/update?

Hi all,
We are already investigating this issue with the Origin team. You can help us to track down the problem faster if you reply to this forum with the following info:
Which edition of the game do you own (standard, digital deluxe, etc)?
Which OS are you using?
Which DLC you have installed?
Did you get Patch 1.01?
Did you get Patch 1.02?
Edition: N7 Digital Deluxe (Preorder)
OS: Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1
DLC: AT 12 Raider Shotgun, From Ashes, M55 Argus Assault Rifle, M90 Indra Sniper Rifle, Mass Effect 3 Digital Artbook, Mass Effect 3 Soundtrack, N7 Collector's Edition Materials, and Resurgence.
Patch 1.01: Yes
Patch 1.02: Yes
Mass Effect 3 Executable: Version 1.2.5427.16
Mass Effect 3 Cloud Storage Enabled: Yes
Origin: Version 8.5.2.23 - 151265
Driver: Nvidia GeForce 296.10
DxDiag: http://dl.dropbox.co...0777/DxDiag.txt
Remedies Tried: Repair Install, Clean Install
The problem got worse after not being able to play multiplayer, now I can't even get into single player because the DLC won't authorize and EA support hasn't been able to fix the issue for over 5 days now. I'm upset because I will probably miss out on redeeming my Operation Resurgence rewards and the fact that I'm being denied access to a product I paid for.

Well said!
I have been able to play my game for over a month now because of this "Online Pass" issue. It should not even occur on the PC version...
No further information from the Devs regarding this is pretty sad at this point. I haven't even finished ME3 once yet and now I can't even do that.
Edit: Oh and my game behaves identical to the video Pachetra posted

Oh, and they also stated that the problem with DLC's autorization can be connected with some idiots obtaining extra multiplayer packs via some exploit. It looks like developers blocked the way to do such a thing and with it... well, you know what happened. Not sure if this is true, though.

When I install single player games on my computer, I need to know that I can
lose internet access at any time and still be able to play a game offline without any issues.
It's absurd that people who pay for the game have to resort to piracy to be able to do things
like play their games without a mandatory internet connection.

I am using Windows 7 Pro.
I have resurgence, from ashes, and n7 collector edition matierials.
I have 1.01 installed, and I have 1.02 installed.
My account was working fine up until I 'reaquired' all my lost equipment due to the last bug.
I have fully reinstalled windows once.
After experiencing the issue, I have fully uninstalled Origin, then installed ME3.
Then I tried uninstalling Origin, and leaving ME3 installed, with reinstalling Origin. and nothing.
I have tried installing DLC in every order possible, on fresh Installs of ME3.

I hear that you can set origin to "offline" mode and still be able to play the singleplayer. Might want to try that, see if that helps.

Well, yeah, you can. But the thing is that without internet there's no possibility to play the game with DLC's. And sometimes you can't even continue the game without DLC authorization.tempest_87 wrote...

I did try that. Also played around with it blocking the game in the firewall and intentionally disabling the internet
to see if there is anyway to get the game to work without an internet connection with dlc content. Unfortunately,
the game consistenly has to authenticate the ashes dlc every time the game is started up.
The only thing that works is a cracked executable. =/

Hmm, dunno. I just recall hearing that someone said you could still use the DLC if it were in "offline" mode. I haven't had an issue since I refused to buy the first day DLC despite the seemingly acceptable reasoning of "3 months between print and release, so we made a DLC" (which I felt justified for doing since I noticed the SINGLE placeholder character in the motivation speech at the end of the game. Why would you make ONLY ONE placeholder, when the initial planning for DLC and extra characters would happen months and months in advance).

Nope. I heared that all DLC's are working without internet connection, game just skips authorization process. So, I tried this out and it worked. Just pull internet cable or whatever it is from your PC, leaving it COMPLETELY without any chance for connection. I suppose that'll be my only option until they solve problem with authorization.Namw wrote...

Posté 27 avril 2012 - 07:54
OS: Windows XP SP3
Masseffect3.exe v.1.02 (v.1.2.5427.16)
DLC: From Ashes, Mass Effect 3 Soundtrack, N7 Collector's Edition Materials, and Resurgence.
I have quite enough of that. First the endings, then that kind of technical DRM ongoing failure, that is just ridiculous.

Given up now but this experience has left a bitter taste, I cannot believe that no one from the company is taking the time to get this issue resolved, there isnt even a formal sticky thread on the subject.

After being in contact with the EA customer service by email over the course of almost 3 weeks, I eventually received a new key to redeem the game on Origin (after sending them a proof of purchase), which solved my problem.

And granted, the solution that worked here for me isn't really the best, as the problem could resurface, but until they find the root cause of what is causing this issue, it's about the only option available.
If any of you have already tried this to no luck, I apologize! I know I tried the uninstall/reinstall stuff several times, but like I say below, it appears the problem lies somewhere with the original product key no longer being recognized.

Have those of you still having problems with this used Live Chat with EA support?
I had this problem a couple of weeks ago, and after getting on Live Chat (twice, first tech wasn't able to help) the second tech I was matched up with fixed the problem.
It wasn't the most elegant solution, but I finally had to uninstall ME3, was given a code to redeem the ME3 N7 edition (new product code), reinstall, and the problem was fixed. My copy, before the new code, was also not recognizing From Ashes, and I was given a new code for that as well, which fixed that problem.
Please note, that it may depend on your luck of the draw as to if the tech is able to help you out. Some people had luck with the first tech they were matched with, others had to contact several before they were able to get the problem fixed.
Hope this works for you guys having trouble! And if you already tried the above and are still having problems, don't stop bugging the appropriate Bioware/EA folks! This is a pretty big deal and I'd hate for them to stop at the "new code" solution, as it probably could happen again (hopefully not, but you never know!).
