Anyone remember the Demogorgon fight in BG2: ToB? The fight was toned down when ToB was released, to spare the average player, only to have the later (albeit unofficial) release of the original "make you cry to your momma" version as an optional mod.
Why not release new or expanded versions of boss fights that make the encounters more challenging and interesting? Not only could it provide fresh challenges, it could also provide a springboard for new quests or zones. Two suggestions (spoilers, obviously):
1. New archdemon fight-- I thought the encounter was surprisingly simple and easy for the final boss in a generally hard game. Yes, I have heard of nightmare mode, and I'm not simply talking about tweaking the numbers. As the hivemind of the darkspawn, more or less, it would be cool to see it coordinate them or interact with them other than to blow them up. Maybe summon emissaries for heals/buffs/debuffs, have it command darkspawn to swarm random party members, etc. It would also be interesting to see abilities based upon the original nature of the old god (beauty, in this case) or to have it try to mentally manipulate Grey Wardens in your party. I also think it'd be cool if, when the killing blow on the archdemon was struck, it triggered an encounter in the Fade, similar to the "Irenicus in the Abyss" fight in BG2. At this point I'm suggesting an expanded ending more than simply a tweaked fight, but it could be a great springboard for a larger expansion or sequel.
2. New Flemeth fight-- As an ancient and not fully human maleficar, Flemeth should have a lot more tricks up her sleeve than just going, "Poof, I'm a dragon now! Just a dragon!" It would be cool to see the fight have phases, perhaps going from her normal form (which would unload tons of spells on the party, maybe even some unique ones reflecting her centuries of research) into various shapeshifted forms. What I think would be even cooler is if the Flemeth fight was turned into a pursuit quest, in which Flemeth leads the party into various ambushes and obstacles deeper into the wilds. This also makes a lot more sense than her simply fighting you to the death. Flemeth is a pragmatic survivor-- to really destroy her you should have to force her to exhaust a lot of contingency plans. Yes, Morrigan does later explain that you likely can't truly kill her, but it stands to reason she would retreat before letting you weaken her by destroying her physical form.
These are just suggestions, of course. Would love to hear from Bioware on whether or not they're considering this, and just community ideas for ways to add some new twists to the game.

I think this would be cool as hell, good thinking sir. Certainly something player mods could address too if the DLC teams never get around to it. I especially agree on the Flemeth fight, was a breeze, I was not that high level (14 or 15 I think) and I beat her on the first try. Would have been far more dangerous if she were a badass mage for the first half of the fight and then when you take that form down she goes dragon on you.
As it is, she goes "poof, i'm a dragon" and i go "poof, you're dead" and now your daughter won't put out anymore

DAMN that would be awesome, to have a Flemeth pursuit quest. Turn it into an hour long manhunt. You won't be able to tell who is hunting who. With lots of puzzles too! Not just gobs of mobs.
