I sort of understand the design intention behind it, but feel it was implemented in a poor way. The blurring/unfocusing effect is not good for anyone's eyes/brain.
If it really needs to have some drawback to it (which always makes things more interesting from a mechanic viewpoint), please make the drawback be an in-game mechanic, like the reduced shields already are, and not something that messes with many peoples eyes.

Srsly though, get your eyes checked.
Srsly number 2: Not able to mess with brightness or anything like that? Just have it permanently on if you sort out a setting for brightness/gamma/stuff like that (not sure about your TV/monitor).

I don't have any *big* problems with it myself, the Krogan Rage effect is way worse. But yeah, maybe I'll come back after an hour and see how my eyes are.
I like how the effect makes it a bit difficult to see. Probably to counter the effect that you see enemies through the walls.

As Legion would say, "Overclocking hardware offers short term benefits, at the cost at long-term platform damage"
As a geth, turn it on when you need to, and turn it off when you don't so your eyes dont bleed out. (:

No idea what caused it to happen but it stayed for the entire match.

Sounds like I should spec out of Hunter Mode if I decide to use Geth. I already get vertigo from too much fast paced ME3 playtime. I found the Adrenalin mode in ME1 wearisome on my eyes and have never tried it much since.
Yeah i'd recommend avoiding the ability if you get eye pain/strain/nausea or headaches from these kind of effects and filters.

I wonder how simple it would be to modify the game files to keep the effect like that, would be a huge improvement, as long as people don't get banned for modding game files that is..
