Apparently we can add the word "disabled" to the list of words that ME3 team members apparently don't understand the meaning of along with "distinct" and "decimate". Not kidding ... is English their 2nd language?

yeah, they are definitively blown up at all three sequences

In 2 out of 3.

In Control they start to explode and then it cuts to the Normandy.

Actually, you clearly can see in the Destroy ending mass relay blows up.I don't see the same in control.
Just watch. Time right on explosion.
Control "Explosion"
Destroy Explosion
So.. does this mean control is "good" option?
Sh*t, this is even worse. (for me at least).
:crying:

*retcon machine*

It means the last choice doesn't matter, and instead you will have a proper ending based on choices you made earlier, that does matter!

It still shows them start to disintegrate.

I very much dislike this whole twitter thing; characters being "killed off" on twitter, plot points being partially explained/clarified on twitter, confused and vague "teasings" on twitter.

Seriously; this type of crap should be IN THE GAME .. I half expect this summer DLC to consist of just a browser window to twitter opening post-credits.

Strictly speaking you see an explosion and some bits coming off. Nitpicking I know, but still.

I swear they're just messing with us at this point.

Oh well... guess we'll see with the DLC.

good so they're disabled.

Fine, make it CGI or cutscene than put in extended, also add something with miranda because romancing with her is meaningless in mE3.

It's kind of funny and kind of terrifying how some Bioware employees tell us so many different things. Speculation from everyone indeed.

The Catalyst clearly states the relays will be destroyed:

Releasing the energy of the crucible will end the cycle but it will also DESTROY the Mass Relays

We could really use a more official FAQ instead of having to resort to tweets and paraphrased "interviews" to make sense of the ending, that just adds to the confusion. Although it really looks like they themselves don't even know the answers to our questions yet.

Agreed. I tend to take all these twitter posts with a grain of salt. I would love it if they just came out with an official channel.

True, but he could just be a lying little bastard.

I mean, he is the Reaper King basically, not exactly somone I would put a lot of faith in.

That they could repair/rebuild a Relay is ridiculous IMO anyway. The Protheans, arguably the greatest scientists known of in the ME universe, at the height of their empire were able to build a small relay system (Conduit and Monument) and it only half worked. No one in this cycle is the equal of the Protheans and yet they are going to repair the Mass Relays?

It's not like it just fell apart and the pieces are all sitting right there. Pieces blew across space and even more, there has to be huge chunks of the device that just vaporized. It would be like taking a broken F22 Raptor with missing control and computer circuits back to 1942 and telling them to repair it so it functions properly.

IIRC, in the Control option the destruction of the Relays cuts before the part where we see the rings flying off into space. We just see it begin to break apart instead of completely boom-all. (It's the same animation as the other two, but it doesn't play through all the way).

See highlighted part.

So we can't use the relays unless we do control, but Shepard is dead if we use destroy...

And synthesis... f*** that ****.

yeah, I am still hoping they are revealing an FAQ Channel BEFORE pulling up the DLC. But I am convicenced that this will stay a dream.

Everytime I grab a straw like the IT there is so much coming against it :(

Well I think what happened is clear. They didn't want the mass relays to get destroyed in the control ending, instead only disabled as Mike said. But they were lacking resources so they used the same cutscene for all of them, leaving the explosion scene out for control.

And this, along with Shepard (and apparently all other synthetics) surviving high ems destroy, means that the spacebrat is completely unreliable.

Though I have no idea why anyone would introduce a deus ex machina like that only to have it give so much false information to the player.

It would be much better if they would come into the BSN once in a while instead of relying on Twitter. All of us here commiserating obviously own the game. Some of us, however, even though our home system is behind an awesome firewall do NOT use Twitter.

Here it would be Word of God, in twitter it's more passing conversation. It's more opinion than prescriptive.

I agree. In fact I hate him and I think his logic is retarded. But the "canon" explaination we have in-game is that the relays are destroyed, not "disabled here, destroyed there".

I absolutely despise the control ending (I'm paragon) because it apparently means that TIM is right, when in fact paragorn Shepard is always against controlling the Reapers.
