Every time I go to the Palace for the Landsmeet, the game crashes.  I don't even get to it - it tries to load and dies.  I've reloaded and tried several times, even going to other areas first but no go.  Any ideas?

I was having the same issue myself. I was finally able to get it to work by going to the alienage again right after speaking to Arl Eamon. Once it loads the alienage, DO NOT MOVE, instead immediately make a new save. Once you have the new save turn immediately around and go back to the map and go to the palace. I recommend making another save as soon as you finish your interaction with Cauthrien, just in case. I just finished the game after having this issue for the last day or so. Good luck.

Thanks - I had to remove all downloaded content and then it let me go to the Landsmeet. The game re-downloaded the armor, but wouldn't get Shale or some other things, not sure why. After the Landsmeet I put the content back and it worked. Strange.

I've also had this issue of crashing to desktop every time I go to the palace after talking to Eamon. Oddly enough it only started happening since I patched to version 1.02. On my first playthrough on version 1.01a I had no such issue.



I managed to find a workaround similar to the one posted by 'freakofsociety'. I tried going to a random different area in Denerim first, then saving, and then going straight to the palace as suggested, but my game still crashed. After that however I reloaded that last save, went to the palace and loaded instantly, with no crash.



So if anyone else runs into the same problem, try leaving the market, saving, restarting the game and then travelling from there to the Landsmeet.
