lots of speculation here. Very impressed at your ability to make up stories that aren't really in the game. Fan fiction winner of the day!!!

LOL, wow. There is a difference between reading between the lines and making stuff up. Just because different theories attempt to fill in some blank spots doesn't mean it can't be true, anymore than we can say with 100% certainty that it can. Among some of the points made on this thread:

-The Reapers sent the Collectors to get Shep's body, in other words, Shepard is on their radar and they want him/her for whatever their reasons
-Hackett asked Shep to do the Arrival mission in secret, with no other team members
-Characters in the ME universe can, and have been, covertly (and sometimes not-so-covertly) indoctrinated
-Almost nothing is known about Hackett, the Shadow Broker has less info on him than TIM even, we don't even see him in person until after Arrival (and that's only the people who played it)
-The Crucible blueprints came from unknown origins many cycles ago, been altered by subsequent generations, and is still largely unknown in it's construction even up to the point it is supposed to be activated
-The Alliance is told that no one survived the blast before the beacon, despite the player hobbling around at that very moment and Hackett telling Shepard that the arms weren't opening (how did he even know Shep was there AND in front of the appropriate control panel AND that the crucible needed an open Citadel???)

...I'm sorry, I missed the part where all of those are lies and not ME canon. :whistle: Last time I checked, the devs WANTED speculation. Why you are then so dead-set against it is beyond me. Lighten up!

Haha! It's funny, but legit. One more suspicious call by Hackett...

Sooner or later I will clean up the original post. But in another thread I made note that the trajectory of the Crucible when it docks with the Citadel is moving at an angle that puts it between the Citadel and Earth.

That means;
The Crucible flew from the Charon Relay to Earth, flew past the Citadel then...doubled back...and docked with the back of the Citadel while in high orbit. Not ONCE does a single Reaper fire upon it. Not once!

The Crucible is a lie and Shepard was duped into believing it. Curse you Hackett! You slippery git!

I've noticed this question raised again recently. Manipulation theory (ie: Hackett) was somewhat smashed by the EC destroy ending. No matter how great a twist it would've been I no longer believe Hackett was indoctrinated. In ME1 Vigil says after the Reapers left, their indoctrinated servants withered and died without purpose. Hackett narrates the destroy ending, in which the Reapers die. So he is not indoctrinated, as evidenced by his continued functioning.
