(Version 002)

A couple days late, but here is an Egg Hunt Game Module I made using the Neverwinter Nights Toolset, XML, and Photoshop. =]

300x200http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7270/7065873231_605534c602.jpg[/img]

Note:
-Small and entirely dedicated to a single egg hunt game and a prize counter to buy prizes.
-No story
-No battles
-Only a small amount of dialogue
-Contains a hak which contains my first attempt at GUIs, no credit taken for images used.
-Still in testing, as I've only tried this with a few acquaintances.
-Single Player only for now. Multiplayer capacity is untested so use multiplayer at your own risk, but do let me know the results if you do.

The Fred's 'Countdown Timer'

Installation:
1) Place the 'EasterEggHuntGame.mod' file directly into the folder: C:\\Users\\<YourName>\\Documents\\Neverwinter Nights 2\\modules

2) Place the 'egghunt.hak' file directly into the folder: C:\\Users\\<YourName>\\Documents\\Neverwinter Nights 2\\hak

3) Now just start up the game, go to 'New Game'->'New Modules' and choose 'EasterEggHuntGame'

4) Have fun!!!

Bug Fixes:

1) Magic Watch option at store is fixed.

Here is the download link: (Make sure you extract it with either 7zip or Winrar or other extractor)

Loadscreen and Gui hak worked, egg too. Egg counter and countdown timer worked. High score as well as running total points from all games worked. Essentially everything you probably wanted tested worked.

The mod works as advertised.

Got the 50 point bunny ears, used them to make myself into a rabbit, the character screen said my race was dragon!
Eggs can spawn behind the character, in the area where the pc first spawns. I had thought they would all spawn in the woods behind the gamemaster. It was confusing. 3 minutes is kind of a rush, if you have to backtrack you probably won't be able to get them all, or just barely... I finally managed to get 10 on my fourth try. I had a texture problem in one tile in the southeast loop, that persisted despite reboot (I have an nvidia card that does that sometimes).

Sounds like a good module for a monk. Or a barbarian. Or a cleric with the Travel domain. Finally those fast movement feats can be put to good use!

This game was a hoot! I played it much, much longer than I expected. Here's the run-down.

If you try to buy the magic watch, it gives you another set of bunny paws. If you make it to the 4th respawn of eggs, you don't get a time bonus.

The bunny ears work, the bunny paws work, the bigger easter basket works.

The scenery is fantastic and the GUI is great.

You may consider adding some nice eastery festive music.

Fun and addictive. Well done!

New Update 002 Update Available

I'm glad you all enjoyed it.

[M. Rieder]
I've just made a quick update that now makes the magic-watch available, but as you have the older version and if still want the magic-watch simply:

1) Press the ` key, located in the upper-left corner of your keyboard, to bring up command console
2) Type In: DebugMode 1
3) Type In: giveitem magicwatch 1
4) Type In: DebugMode 0
5) Press the ` key again to close the command console

As for addictive easter theme music, I'll see what I can do.

As for the fourth iteration, just tested it and if you can achieve it, it does indeed give you the promised bonus-time, but as the bonus-time is halved each time, what you get can become quite small and you really have to be quick. On a second look, I've just noticed that I lack a rounding function so I implemented that and it should at least give you one second no matter how many iterations you achieve. Thanks.

I'm not sure what is causing that visual anomaly. As I'm not able to bring it up myself I'm thinking it is related to your graphics card as you suggested, but if you can point out the exact tile, I'll try to look into it. As for the dragon bunny form, I'm not sure why it labels you as a dragon, I bet it has something to do with racial-types, and if so, I'll look into it on the next update for this mini-game.

[DannJ]
I didn't think of looking at it from a class perspective, but I do agree that high level monks, especially those hasted with those bunny boots and the magic watch, would get a pretty high score indeed.

I guess the time bonus for the 4th iteration was so small, I didn't notice it. I'll have to get back in and get that magic watch now. I really want that thing. I'm up to 65 eggs in one try, but with the magic eggs, I bet I can get even higher.

Of course, if I used the teleportation spell mod, then I could really blow the whole thing wide open! :)

Careful, all that sugar can't be good for you. ;)

Jokes aside, thanks for the continued interest, M. Rieder. I've also taken your suggestions in mind for the easter theme music. When time allows, I'll hook up some related themes I found on the nwn vault with a jukebox conversation script I made, as even I'm pressed to choose. I'll implement those, alongside a few other minor concerns brought to me on the Neverwinter Nexus, into the next and final update so that this little game is available for the next cycle of the seasons.
