EA too big to fall? Doesn't seem that way anymore.

I wonder if this will force EA to finish the deal of purchasing Rockstar?

Ugh...heard that rumor months ago. Could you imagine EA buying Rockstar?

That's actually been a rumor for years. EA tried to buy them right before GTA4 came out because 2k/Take-Two whoever is in with Rockstar was hurting.

Honestly, Rockstar has been disappointing this gen. LA Noire was boring and GTA4 was a step back. RDR was a fantastic game though. Rockstar management is really really bad too. It wouldn't surprise me to see EA buy them.

Every game Rockstar has touched this gen has had development problems. LA Noire, Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne and even GTA4...

LA Noire and RDR had major financial problems through their development.

I can only hope this is happening to Crapcom too.
While I've moved on passed EAware Crapcom is coming out with a game I am dying for but their business practices are making me not want it.
When these guys go back to making games for gamers instead of games for money get back to me.
As it stands I think I'd welcome another industry crash.

EA buys Rockstar and they'd lose the Houser brothers.  Their the driving force behind the company.
That would make me hate EA even more than I already do.  Rockstar is easily my favorite game company whatever issues behind LA Noire and GTA IV there some of my favorite games.  I think I'mma go play some RDR right now.
EA better not even go there or I will do whatever satan worship I need to to haunt them for eternity.

actually LA Noire wasn't that bad, I quite enjoyed it. Sure it was glitchy, but it was innovative and delivered what it set out to do, which was give us a Detective experience. The mysteries were variable and the approach u could take to them was quite good. Also enjoyed the voice acting and the graphics were not bad. It's a good game for me. Not as good as it should have been after 7 years of developement, but still good.

Rockstar delivers solid games in most cases and dont be quick to judge just because of a crappy GTA.

I'm sure you got a hard on for the new Devil May Cry game right?

ITS SO BADass. :P

(Seriously the series is like a horse beaten into such a bloody mass, its almost unrecognizable from the original game, not that it was ever something "super-awesome" but still)

I'm really hoping Ninja Theory goes under after the new DmC. They said in an interview it would be very bad for them if DmC didn't sell well, and if there are any heroes left in man it wont. New Dante is just as bad as the Mass Effect 3 ending ombined with Dragonage 2. Nay, worse.

Crapcom with their 12 character disc-locked content scamming for SF X Tekken made them into my most hated developer in an instant and I thought what EAware did with Javik was bad but this? Holy ****!

A Ninja Theory game bombing is as assured as the sun rising from the east tomorrow morning.

And yeah I hope they go under and that it delivers a heavy blow against Crapcom.

its funny, with EA tanking, and Sony tanking right now, the clear winner of the big three seems to be Nintendo?

Nintendo hasn't been doing too well either, last I checked.

It just shows that they are no different than any other large company in the current economic climate. Reorganisation is happening on a global scale and it will be another 10 years before our economy recovers and thats being positive.

Pretty much what Mercannis said, tbh - the economy is shot to hell, and no company is safe from the reprisal. I don't have a very good outlook for the next 10 years either - but I'll avoid getting into a discussion on that subject, as it'd likely be frowned upon by the mods.

Also, if EA buys Rockstar, you can kiss Rockstar's ass goodbye - they'll be just another victim.

I got a good laugh from that. I honestly don't understand how some developers honestly can produce games with such large production costs, and yet have a game targeting some non-existent audience with poor design.

EA's stock drops a staggering 6% in a single day, likely in response to the massive layoffs. Their stock is now at 15,18, the lowest it's been in about 10 years.

LOL I don't even care about DMC.  I was talking about Dragon's Dogma.  Such promising games tied to such terrible companies.  Its like the the best candy bar in the world is being made in a rat poison factory.

I only mentioned DMC because its been beaten to death and has like no appeal anymore it seems, especially with the new design, I don't know anyone anticipating it, nor can I see it selling well in NA/UK markets, might do decent in Japan.

As for Dragon's Dogma, looks pretty interesting however its not for PC so I couldn't care less as a result, if it succeeds we will probably get a port down the road.
