I'm using 6/3/5/6/6.
The turret (6) im using it for Flamethrower.
Geth Vision (3) to spot enemies incoming behind walls mostly.
Overload (5) (detonates Tech Burst caused by Turret Flamethrower)
Geth Engineer build suggestions

I specced mine more for support and been having some smooth runs going 6/0/6/6/6.
For turret I maxed every shield regen talent to play a combat medic roll. Overload with first rank of chain, then nueral shock (great for reapers), and then shield damage for stripping/stunning/ controlling.
No hunter mode... leave that for geth infiltrator when I get one.
May not top every chart, but you will be a huge asset to your team helping everyone win (which is the point right)
Oh yeah and I use the GPS with smart choke and thermal clip upgrade
Geth Engineer has Nueral Shock? Does any character have Nueral Shock? I loved it in ME2 haha
All overload have the Neural Shock evolve, and all can be evolved to chain three times. Makes it an obscene CC abilitiy - you can litterally keep a dozen enemies incapacitated at a choke point. It is a pure team-support ability with little damage though, so the lone wolf heros will never like it.

I can't wait to unlock my Geth Engineer. I love what you guys are saying about it. Got me all excited. Really strip Banshee shields? That's awesome.

Overload with shield damage perk removes 3-4 bars from Banshee Barrier/Prime Shield on gold, non-boss units are instantly "stripped."

Normally play a Salarian Eng but lucked out like the OP today and ran with the Geth Eng for a few silvers. At first the Hunter Mode is really weird as there is a whole lot going on behind obstacles that you just don't normally see. Like everyone else, mostly in support mode and have 6, 5, 6, 6, 3. Using a Raptor X. The turret is very useful, specially when you throw it between a couple of Geth Primes. Lot of fun.

Can anyone explain what the neural shock upgrade does? I opted for recharge time on my Turian Sentinel because according to the ME wiki it "Incapacitate[s] weaker organic enemies for a short duration." Doesn't the regular overload already cause enemies to bend over?

I unlocked the engineer in my first buy yesterday afternoon. Feeling my build was strong, I took it to my first Gold and made extraction easy (this was before the flammer upgrade).
My build goes for full turret damage and ignores Overload, I don't need it. With the right skills chosen, I have +50% Geth wep damage and when you combine that with Hunter modes +15% rate of fire on a Geth rifle or a Geth shotty your damage output is insane. With +20% headshot damage I ruin anything at range with the Geth rifle. I also boosted my shields by 40% and got the +25% shield regen as Geth are glass cannons. I found grenades are the bane of a Geth in Hunter mode, you wont survive unless you get completely clear or drop Hunter mode.
The boosted turret acts almost as good as Salarian Decoy but with heavy firepower. Throwing it around corners (with hunter vision you can see enemies to make the right choice) or near team mates for a quick shield heal is awesome sauce. I can solo banshee's and ruin brutes, I love this damn class!
Edit: Dont be tempted to take a shield buffing turret, damage pays out dividends and the damage buffs add HP to it so it can act as a decoy better which saves your very flimsy life. You can redeply the turret quickly so do so when you or a team mate needs shields bad.

There's no need to further upgrade the heal on the Geth Turret, since it actually full-heals regardless of what specialization you go with. I would however, recommend getting the increase frequency of it's pulses by 60%. Max your Force Power + Chain Overload and roll with a light-weight weapon so you have 200% power speed. Spam Overload like no tomorrow and nothing will touch you and the team. Besides, great for dealing with synth+shields.
You can support and deal incredibly good AoE damage and be CC'er. I've been rolling with it for a while now on Gold, and I can top the charts, but I don't mind when I don't- the point is to provide the much needed shield regeneration + CC/AoE damage.
If you have a Asari Justicar(Adept) with a defensive-oriented bubble, you'll be practically unkillable in the bubble (Provided that your turret is up). Besides, the turret with the perk can deal 400+ damage (iirc) and soak alot of damage, and whenever it goes down, you can pop a new one up. Very useful, since you'll be lacking in the mano-el-mano raw firepower.
