Yes .. you have to 'change resolution' after game start to make it work .. it does not matter what you change it to. After any change it works. But you must do it again if you quit the game and start again.

Just to bump it.
Also Alt+tab during the game to a different resolution and back seems to help as well.

Can confirm that Alt+tab did it for me, no changing of resolution necessary.
