So i downloaded the resurgence pack and restarted my xbox 360

I tried to join a session in progress with someone on my friends list and got this message:

"You cannot join your friend's game because you are not using the same version of the game. Please download the latest Title Update and try again."

How do i fix this?

Yes. This is a thing. Also happened to me.

This is fixed by having your friend restart their xbox. I believe what happened was some people downloaded the pack early, and kept playing throughout the day. A hotfix was applied mid-day, and those who downloaded it later were unable to play with the people that hadn't restarted to install the hotfix.

just restarting xbox doesn't fix it always the better fix is clearing the cache of your xbox. If the problem remains you are not the problem but the firend is in wich case he should clear his cache.
