Looks like EA is successfully deflecting the attention from them being voted the worst company in America and the ME3 controversy. People are actually seeing them as victims now somehow.

Yes exactly, most notable is the "Anti-gay boycott", be vary wary of that one folks.  It looks suspicously like something designed to make EA boycotters look like bigots.

They did this before with Dante's Inferno.  It didn't sell as well as they wanted and people quickly ripped it apart for being rushed, plagiarising God Of War, and ruining one of the most classic poems of all time.  What happens next?

Christians "protest" Dante's Inferno and cry out about it, except, it wasn't christian evangalists, it was EA employees(they got busted some time later and even admitted it).

My thoughts exactly. Except, I would still rank it as merely being a distraction even if the anti-gay boycott was real. So what if some tiny fraction of people who probably wouldn't even play the game anyway call for a boycott?

Tens of thousands of people join groups online stating their dissatisfaction with the ME 3 endings, EA wins the "worst company in America" title for their tendency to ruin the credibility of other companies they purchase and tendency to take disgusting advantage of their customers (here's a great audio clip of EA's CEO talking about how they take advantage of customers: ), and now EA-Bioware would like to have some attention deflected to their gay rights stance? Seems like a lame distraction.

This thread is absolutely ****ing hilarious.

*ahem*

To the militant atheist group:

I would like to see things from your point of view, but my head doesn't go that far up my own ass.

How do you know if you don't try?

:)

Oh, I've tried, but the ring only goes to about mid-forehead where Dawkins's is around the base of his throat.

All the people who have supported homosexual romances will die in hellfire. Because god created homosexuals only to hate on them and persecute them. Children of today should only grow up in an age of bigotry and blind faith.

We must now pay close attention to these sexually frustrated christian conservatives on their definition of sexual morality.

It's not that kind of gay we we're talking bout when referring to the ME3 ending =p

I would be wary of any controversy about this game other than the legit complaints real gamers have raised. Deflecting attention from the core problem a company is having with a product by shoving another nonsense issue to the forefront is damage control PR 101.

EDIT
ah yes, let's bash Christians based on a small radical group that label themselves that. Some of you talk about religion being the problem. It is people that ASS-U-ME all people are the same as some of the wack-jobs on the fringes that contribute to the problem.

So you're saying this was staged by Bioware/EA to take the bad press off the "bad" ending?

Thats a little thick, don't you think.

I would have thought that if EA hadn't just been caught doing that very thing with Dante's Inferno....

Lol! No. That's even worse than Ozzy. You got a Templar avatar? Those sodomizing, devil worshipping, burned at the stake heathens? No.

They've done that kind of thing before. And I'm sure this being "leaked" a few hours after it was announced EA won the consumerist poll is just a coincidence.

Not all crusaders were Templars, you know. They were a mere single faction in a.. diverse holy land after the First Crusade.

Deliver a most holy smite on the foul Liberals My brother. << >>

But yes, whats the point in this?

Just another "Cool Story bro" thread?

I mean really for all the hating I've seen on here aimed at religion in general, I'ld say I need like a symbol for Atheist to photoshop on that knight, because really, short of it being a cause you agree with I'm not seeing much difference on the "PURGE THE HERITICS LEAVE NONE ALIVE" scale. The Blood God will be pleased.

And meh a protest against something you don't agree with, how dare they, what happend to the good days of just murdering your problems, I mean really, the nerve of some people!

EDIT* on a side note, the world, and its views are largely not Canadian or Western European, so please for all nearly 7 billion people NOT living in those areas, do shut up on "what the world thinks." K thnx Bye

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that the religious group boycotting ME3 is the Westboro Baptists?

As much as I see homosexuality as un-natural, it is a part of todays world and BioWare are simply portraying romances in a realistic manner and allowing players the choice. The game doesn't say in any way that hetro or ****** is better than the other and allows the player full control, so there is no "promoting" homosexuality onto kids.

I know BioWare is getting alot of flack recently, some of it deserved too, but this is just plain crazy...

You see it as unnatural because society and religion basically kept pounding it into your head while you were growing up.

If you were raised in a community where you saw straight couples and gay couples you'd think it was normal and think nothing else about it.

I long ago stopped buying in to what society and religion tell me I should think about certain topics, if it makes the other person happy then good on them, I'm no better than they are and cannot judge.

I actually love bioware's stance on this, to each their own, it happens in all kingdoms of animals, it's happened in the past, get over yourself.  At least that is how I interpet BioWare and EA's stances on this.

What's funny is all the homophobia used to be so low key, then states allowed marraige and the Military allowed members to be open, because having to deny who you are and feel ashamed is absolutely horrible.

I do find it sad that Christianity and other religions preach tolerance and acceptance, and yet they're typically the FIRST to decry/outrage/protest anything that doesn't fit into their view of how the world 'should be'.

Oh those ones.  They can rot.

Still, they are a bit of a straw man argument...

I don't like seeing two dude going at it, but I respect Bioware's right to make that availible for those players who want it in the game.

And frankly, the gay romance for ME 3 was tasteful and realistic (relatively), I found it to be a nice little addition for a group of players often marginalized in Love Interests.

That said. Still hate BW, still wish they could use tact and good taste in their endings and blah blah blah.

Ah, but I, as one infected with the fear of the same, feel that I am being told that I must deny who and what I am. Why? No solid reason really, just a bunch of feel-goody dreamy nonsense. Should you be surprised that people maintain their outlook?
