If you're gonna compare then let's go big. Brokeback Mountian, released December 2005, theatric run of 133 day, worldwide box office take of 178 million dollars. 8 Oscar nominations and 3 wins. So my question is this, while there was some protesting over this movie it was nowhere near as much as EA claims ME3 is getting for homosexual portrayals.

I have no problem with gay, lesbian or transgenders. My best friend in Houston is lesbian. No clue what all the fuss is about.

Fixed.

I'm a libertarian myself, thus tolarence is a way of life for me.  Of course tolarence is a good thing, but let's face facts here, EA has a history of staging false protests to play the victim card.  Given the circumstances, do you truly believe it is any different this time?  Again, if they actually cared, I'd applaud them, but circumstances and their track record of false protests against themselves, say otherwise.

This isn't a matter of opinion.

Thats exactly what this is mate. We can agree to disagree, after all there is a book on this ;)

anyway, in the interest on keeping this thread from going off topic (the news story?) I won't comment further on my views here.

By saing some people have no right to view something differently than you... what exactly are you doing? Everything is a matter of opinion. Some opinions might be shocking, some might be simply evil or wrong, some have roots in a different culture. But you cannot change that. Sadly sometimes.

I support Fruton here, even if not in his views (that I might or might not support) then in his right to have them.

Like I said before, there are alot of good Christians out there trying to do the best they can for themselves and others.

But there are also extremists. And there are extremists on both sides.

This. I would never equate all atheists with Joseph Stalin, Pol Pot,  or Adolf Hitler.  Why are all religious people equated with fundamentalists and bigoted "Christians"?

Adolph Hitler was not an atheist.  He was a Christian.  Not that there's anything wrong with being a Christian, as long as you don't force your religious-based principles on others.

Woops!  I think I was too focused on the murderous dictator sort. Sorry!

EDIT: Ok, maybe I wasn't completely wrong.  Thanks
ModestmeNTaLmogul!

Seriously though, if God was real and says homosexuality is a sin why would He created homosexuals in the first place? God made man in His own image so if God made gay men as well (or made men have the ability to be gay ) is there a bit of that in him too?

Seems kinda meh. Flying Spaghetti Monster FTW.

I'm not a christian, but I do believe in god.

Yeah he made us in his image, and that also means free will. God is capable of murder for instance (the flood) but it's the choice not to commit an act such as murder, and then not doing it that I think he want's us to do.

To me, such mods say that the community wants these things. The communiity wants the freedom to express their views within the game. Bioware allows this and for that I take my hate off to them.

Don't judge the whole community by some individuals. There are also lots of nude mods out there, that doesn't mean that the "community" wants them in-game.

Yes, skyrim had quests that had grown men chasing after little girls but you get to kill them and what not, you can have any type of characterr in anything aslong as its done well and right. homosexual romance has a time and place just like normal romance, in the bed room :?

Just kill or have sex with little girls? Because, for some unknown reason, violence and brutality is completely acceptable for Americans.

I'm affraid that majority of pro-homosexual content in any media are just publicity stunts made in laboratories of PR managers. It's easy going with uncritical mass who blindly accept anything that's "progressive". Obama won elections on that premise.

Agreed with the OP, in this day and age it is scary to see how narrow-minded some groups are. However as a few pointed out it is not just a Canadian stance, a lot of countries are actively pushing equal rights for same-sex partners.

On a different note, I play Femshep and it just felt weird chatting up a bloke so I am glad for the same sex relationships. :)

That's corect, countries, not societies. And that's the problem, it became a political stand and not really accepted. Google "proposition 8".

Actually (pig moment here) I want them. Being on xbox sucks sometimes.

It is their right to complain but it is also Bioware's right to write their games as they see fit.

Tell that to the ending haters. Appearently they disagree with the Christian groups hating on 'gay' content, yet  they think they are entitled enough to demand a different ending >_> riiight

Ending hater here. They have every right to complain if they wish. My big problem is their narrow minded view of things make the rest of us (Christian, right wing, atheist, leftist what ever group you want to associate with) look bad.

Just popping in to say, it's not an EA stunt - the whole thing actually started way before ME3 was even released, in response to the s/s content (that's not even in yet grrr) for SWTOR. Since ME3 has just come out (pun intended), it's been jumped on too.

The pro-EA petition was going well until idiots started using bots and cast it in a false light (funny how no-one questions how many of the 150,000 residents of Florida backing the religious group are real individuals, but I digress).

So yeah, wasn't directed at ME specifically.

Being a lesbian gamer, I'm glad EA and especially Bioware are sticking to their guns.
Funny how opposers seem to think having gay content in anything, let alone games will somehow turn people gay. If that was the case, with all the straight games I've played in the last 30 years, I should be as straight a s they come by now ^^

I don't see how a women's studies professor is an authority on what is and isn't natural. None of her credentials have anything to do with biology.

Religions are irrational. But I can sort of see the point in a 15 rated game.

Apples and eezo cores comparison.  One group has played a game and found many many holes in the plot.  This same group will buy DLC, even some will buy better endings, and will likely buy more BW games in the future.  The other group wouldn't buy the game in the first place, and likely know nothing of ME or BW except for the s/s aspect.  They're lobbying to stifle content - not just change or add, to actively take away content.

Please, justify the "creative" BW line with censorship. How can you be ok with "artistic license" when groups want to deny that outright?

Until you can, then they are NOT the bloody same!

I don't mind the horrible implemented homosexual romances in ME3.

"Hi I am Cortez and I am grieving for my husband. Shepard, let's have anal intercourse so I can feel better ;)"

It's just there for lulz if nothing else xD because if I was gay then I'd be pissed off for such a lousy portrayal of people with non-traditional orientation. :pinched:
