Yea and im sure you could dig up a few people who liked shaqfu or waterworld. Bottom line no matter how bad something is youll always be able to dig a few people up crazy enough to like it, doesnt mean their right tho......just means they enjoyed crap.

Those who like the ending tell those who dislike the ending that they don't get how good it is.

Nooo, it means they have an opinion and tastes different to yours. Which is completely fine. FYI I dislike the endings, but I REALLY dislike people who dismiss and deride others for having an opinion that doesn't agree with theirs.

Both sides of the argument need more people like you.
Thanks for this OP. I am enjoying reading these threads you have shown. Also the article you put up (in your last post) was extremely well done and I greatly enjoyed it.
Well done, OP. I just wanted to congratulate you and the OP's to whose threads you have linked on doing such a good job before the trollpocalypse begins. It's been an honor posting with you this evening.
Hey, I'm glad to see those who liked the ending speak up, considering how us (who hate the ending, regardless of color) are being so vocal on these forums.
I still think you are all crazy, but it's all good!
Yay finally. Here's my take on the ending if you want to add it to the OP. I found the ending to be at its core about the struggle of order vs chaos, logic vs unpredictability, intelligent design vs evolutionary freedom.
I believe the ending is very flawed from a video game perspective, but the core idea behind it was fascinating.
I dunno if this qualifies, but I (despite…ending scepticism?) wrote down how I'd like to see the clarification done, while keeping to the current ending: http://social.biowar.../index/11289479.
Im not a fan of the endings, but I don't completely dislike them. I do applaud this thread though. As usual the voices of dissent are always the loudest (especially around here), and those that have a differing opinion tend to get drowned out by the noise. If you truly do like the ending, then good for you. Don't let anyone here or elsewhere deter you from your point of view.
I only wish I were Hudson. If I were him, the end of ME3 would have 20% more ponies.
and when the energy was fired assortment of ponies amerged from the beam some blue, some green, some red but all were cuddly poinies. Something like that? just kidding was it first thing came to my mind after reading that comment...thank you for sharing all this info btw
Thank you for including my post on the list! Though I'm not sure if I qualify as a true pro-ender, because...

I have yet to see anyone come up with a pro-end statement that comes close to rebutting this video:
... for the most part, I agree with this video. I love the ideas presented in the ending, but I think their execution was poor. Maybe I should do a blog post on that, too. Might save me from repeating myself.
Re: summaries of the articles.... I had hoped to summarize it in the title, but barring that.... It is a blog post outlining one player's thought process in approach to the game as a whole, and why that made the synthetic ending work for that player.
If summaries are still needed tomorrow (tonight?), I'll see if I can't put together a few that aren't related to my own article... but right now it is late and I am tired. Feel free to message me or something if you want to coordinate on this. While I would like to read all the articles myself, summaries are more likely to get done if I'm reading specific ones that aren't already being summarized.
Mmm, I'm putting off summaries for now, I think. Too much work and I am laaaaazy. I am compiling the summaries you guys have posted though, and will put them in... eventually...
But I'm with you on being a "pro-ender"; the point that I agree on with most Retakers is that the delivery was rather iffy. I don't agree that it was THAT bad, but it's definitely not as good as it could be. The point where I disagree with most Retakers is that the themes were contrary to the rest of the series, or that the ending was totally out of the left field. The themes of control, synthesis, and destruction are all over the series.

Me too.....thought lots of people did...lol
I like this thread to by the way. Nice OP
FTR, I am not "pro-ender", I am pro-clarify and expand, not change the ending.
I hated Waterworld!
Yeah, not all of the links in the first post are "pro-ending" per se, but they're at least... not as anti-ending? Something like that, lol.

Mmm, I was thinkng the Crucible should fire Rainbow Dash and the power of the Sonic Rainboom would fry most Reapers. Then the rest of the Mane 6 would come in and use the Elements of Harmony to turn the remaining Reapers into good guys, just like they made the evil Nightmare Moon turn back into the good Princess Luna. That would give it more colors! Rainbows and pastel-colored ponies!
I watch way too much MLP:FiM, sorry.
Anyway, I'll be adding the links you guys left here, and maybe do a bit more organizing. OCD-tendencies, activate!
I thought the ending was horrible and a complete lazy rip-off of the first Deus Ex game. The choices even have the same names. But I'm genuinely glad some people liked it. I don't wish mental anguish on anybody.
5 pages of 99% troll/flame fest free posts, on the topic of the ending none the less, I think my hunger is making me see things.
Its good to see really, I am for sure in the anti-ending crowd but i've always tried to respect the opinions of people on the other side, especially since I have co-workers who liked the endings. Looks like some good reading in the links, will have to check em out.

I can almost agree with that, but I've been playing video games for a long, long time. Deus Ex came out over a decade ago. If you make a game groundbreaking enough, the elements of what made your game great are going to become parts of other video games to come.
As fast as video games move, it is my opinion incorporating elements from a truly classic and great shooter/RPG in your classic and great shooter/RPG is not "ripping off" something, especially if the choices are presented in a very different manner. It's inspiration, not theft.
It was a very direct transposition of the endings from the original Deus Ex, but I feel the implications of how the galaxy-wide decisions you made throughout the trilogy interact with your final decision add a distinct element to it that was not present in the story of Mr. Denton.
ed. Don't mean to imply the classic "you're not as dedicated or as experienced a gamer as I defense" by talking about how long I've been playing games. Just saying that this is the perspective that I've accrued watching games develop since the NES era.
