She just rules, she makes everything sound awesome. From Naomi in MGS to Trishka in Bulletstorm (loved her in that), her voice can put you in a trance. I reeeeeeaally hope Bulletstorm 2 gets made, NEED MORE TRISHKAAA!!
She's my favourite voice actor, better than Nolan North, David Hayter and Steve Blum combined.

I had never heard anything of her before ME1, her voice hooked me into the game immediately. I clearly remember thinking about that voice as soon as at her second line: "Great. You pissed the captain off, and now I'm gonna pay for it".

Just adding another post of praise. She's great. :)

She did an absolutely terrific job, and that's no small praise when it comes to a series that has left a legacy of superb voice-over work (one notable exception aside, but this isn't the place for that).

FemShep was my first Shepard, and that's the way I'll always think of Shepard in general. I suppose it's kind of like how baby ducks imprint on something; your first Shepard is your canon Shepard.

That said, lot of FemShep's appeal to me did come down to her voice, which had some truly great moments that ultimately made Shepard seem like a more rounded and human character to me, capable of running the full gauntlet of emotions (meaning no disrespect to Mark Meer, as he's done some wonderful work on other characters in the series, but I've never been a fan of his more stoic portrayal of Shepard even after he seriously upped his game in ME2). With Hale's performance I felt like I really got a better grasp of Shepard's character, able to be strong and commanding when needed but also with a vulnerable side and real emotional depth in more private moments. As has been pointed out, her final farewells to Garrus were a particular highlight; you could tell that Shepard was really hurting, knowing that she might never see this guy who has stood by her side through thick and thin again, but is clearly trying to put on a brave face knowing what's to come. It's a masterful moment expertly handled.

So yeah, kudos to Hale indeed, in fact to all (or rather the majority of) the Mass Effect voice actors.

We should be praising Mark Meer too, he was every bit as good if not better.

Me either. I mean Jennifer Hale is a very talented voice actress and she did a really great job on the Mass Effect series, but so did Mark Meer. I wouldn't say Hale was any better or worse than Meer.

Regardless of what I think about (the end of) ME3, I just wanted to thank Jennifer Hale for her exceptional work. I have a background in theatre, and I've enjoyed Jennifer's voice overs on a number of Bioware titles. But her work in ME3 deserves a special note...she just nails it. It's honestly some of the best voice acting I've ever heard.

So, thank you Jennifer! Keep up the great work, and all the best in your future projects!

'nuff said.

I could never get used to Mark's VA. *shrugs* Been playing as femShep since ME1 and it just grew on me. femShep is my canon Shepard and it's hard to try maleshep. Though I should probably try maleShep, just so I can experience all i can from the game

I tried ME1, didn't like it. Then started over as a Femshep and I was sold.

Fan since, and her work in ME3 is astounding, she's been pushing Shepard to the next level. Some favourites:

"It's not so bad once you get used to the soft food and hot beds"
"It'll be a hell of a short war if they don't"
"Don't let them get the female!"

And many others.

Both VAs are great, and both are unique in the way they represent Shepard. Meer has really upped his game since ME1- comparing his performance to ME3 is a real indicator of how far he's come.

Though if I had to choose, I still prefer Hale. Dat voice.

I always thought Femshep sounded...Hilary Clinton-ish to me. I think Ashley Williams has a feminine, sexy, yet at the same time badass military voice. I think her voice acting would have been better as a female shep imo.

Oh yeah, I'll sign that.

Jennifer if you ever read this, thanks for making the Mass Effect experience so awesome for me. Ever since "feels like the morning after shore leave" you had me hooked. Never looked back.

Shep is FemShep.

I love the bit at the end, during the very last bits of combat, when she says, "We can do this!"

I said, "YES WE CAN!!!" at my TV screen.

So emotional. ;_;

She's just great.

Thank you so much for your amazing performance, miss Hale.

I always join the bandwagon of support and love. Though I don't play a fem Shepard myself, I like her VO in the trailers.

More love for Mark Meer! After seeing some scenes of femshep I have to say I like his performance better. It sounds more natural to me. I don't understand why people always talk bad about him.

I'll second that, but with one caveat: ME2 > ME1 > Mark Meer > ME3 Multiplayer > Jennifer Hale > ME3 campaign
