Thanks from all six of my FemSheps: Alice, Charm, Joan D'Arc, Khara, Sekhmet and Cymoril.
You are wonderful, love your work.

I think Jennifer Hale did an excellent job in voicing FemShep, she really made the character feel ''alive''. Thanks Ms.Hale!
Now that Commander Shepards story is over I really I hope she'll get to voice more main protagonists (or maybe antagonists?) in games. Hell, I would like her to voice a DA3 companion.

Regardless of what I think about (the end of) ME3, I just wanted to thank Jennifer Hale for her exceptional work. I have a background in theatre, and I've enjoyed Jennifer's voice overs on a number of Bioware titles. But her work in ME3 deserves a special note...she just nails it. It's honestly some of the best voice acting I've ever heard.

So, thank you Jennifer! Keep up the great work, and all the best in your future projects!

Yeah, I agree with all this...she made Shepard friggen excellent!

Both Hale & Meer were top notch in ME3, I think. Meer has been a little bit of a mixed bag compared to Hale in the ME1 and 2, but he really pulled it out of the bag for ME3, if you ask me.

Props to the both of them!

Yep. I've played the game three times and I still can't get over how amazing she is in ME3.

More love for Mark Meer! After seeing some scenes of femshep I have to say I like his performance better. It sounds more natural to me. I don't understand why people always talk bad about him.

Those who prefer femshep that talk bad about Mark Meer is because his Shepard doesn't put any real emotion into his character. Hale gives FemShep real life, she sounds authentic, she has emotion in everything she says. Meer... Meer doesn't his Shepard at least to me is flat, sounds boring and it sounds as if he himself is bored.

I hope this helps explain why many of us FemShep players both male and female prefer her over Male Shep.

Femshep having her voice is one of the reasons i stuck with the ME world. The first time i played Broshep i just couldnt fully enjoy it because his voice just rubs me oh so very wrong. Nothing against Broshep lovers, i just hate his voice and in a game that focused on talking as much as shooting, not liking the Main guys voice is a big killer. Rerolled a femshep and was fully hooked to the series the moment she started yelling at some one right before it sounds like she is gonna just break down under the stress.

I dont know if it was how my own shep's face matched Jennifer Hale's voice, but during the part where thane dies and she says "why did the last verse say 'she'?", I just put down my controller, and curled up into a little ball and cried.

Finally a thread where I can post a truly positive comment!

Jennifer Hale is great! Image IPBImage IPBImage IPBImage IPB

She IS the one and only Commander Shepard to me and one of the main reasons I got so attached to this character since the first game!

And I still wish for a Dragon Age Origins where she voices my female cousland warden...that would be too cool...

Mark Meer also did a fantastic job this time round, he raised the bar from his ME2 work. Hale won me over this game aswell. I used to never play Fem Shep because I stupidly thought she had a boring voice, but yeah she was awesome in ME3

She was always superb in the first two games, but she really did excel in ME3. She really complimented the other great voice actors in the game, cant take anything away from them. For me however Jen really did steal the show. One minute Im laughing, next im almost in tears.  The writing staff of course helped, but I think her tone and talent in these situations was enough regardless.

  Love you Jen!! <3

She does amazing voice work in everything she does. I would love to get her to do a Commander Shepard voice mail for my answering machine though. She's number one of 4 people i want voice mail messages from. The others being John St. John who does Duke Nukem and Kevin Conroy as Batman, and Mark Hamill as the Joker.

For me, it wouldn't be Mass Effect without Jen Hale. I was excited to find that I could play as a female hero all those years ago, but when I first started playing and heard her voice? Yeah, I knew that I'd love this series.

With Hale's performance I felt like I really got a better grasp of Shepard's character, able to be strong and commanding when needed but also with a vulnerable side and real emotional depth in more private moments. As has been pointed out, her final farewells to Garrus were a particular highlight; you could tell that Shepard was really hurting, knowing that she might never see this guy who has stood by her side through thick and thin again, but is clearly trying to put on a brave face knowing what's to come. It's a masterful moment expertly handled.

Great post! It's this kind of craftsmanship that really makes her preformance noteworthy.

I have to agree with this. ME3 is, I believe, the best performance she has ever delivered. Every one of the regulars, Sbarge, Keener, David, Hillis, Sheen and the rest, all brought their A game, but even among that field of stars Hale shines like a beacon. Her delivery of Shepard's goodbyes to her squad is one of the most powerful and emotional performances I've ever heard.

ME3 has its problems, but the voice acting is NOT one of them. I believe it will be held up as the benchmark of voice acting for all future games.

I prefer Mark Meer, but they're both amazing voice actors.

Edit: Not to mention practically ever other voice actor in the game as well. With -very- few exceptions, Bioware did a hell of a job picking their voice actors for the entire Mass Effect trilogy.

Yeah, Jennifer Hale is an amazing VA. In my opinion the best, at least when it comes down to "normal" characters. I mean, guys like Steve Blum are great as well, just in a different way.

She was stellar all the way through trilogy, but this time around I gotta give bigger props to Mark. He was every bit as good, after lagging behind badly in ME1, catching up a little in ME2 and almost nailing it from LotSB onwards.

Hale was great in the previous ME games but amazing in ME 3. I hadn't really heard about her before Mass Effect, it's only after hearing her as Commander Shepard in ME1 that I bothered looking up who's voice that actually was. Meer's performance in ME1 was... not as good. He's improved quite a bit since then, but Hale will always be the voice of Commander Shepard to me.

Love Jennifer Hale, have since KotOR. The emotion, range and inflection she puts into her work has always left me entranced in the story. Meer... didn't do that. I tried ManShep to get a "canon" playthrough, but I had to turn the game off in the middle of talking to Pressley for the first time. He came across so flat and uninspired even in that essentially pointless conversation. I actually zoned out while he was talking.... While he seems to have improved significantly by ME3, I'll never be able to get past his performance in ME1, so no Sheploo for me....

Hale's performance is the exact opposite of his, IMO. Throughout the whole series she's kept me entertained and she's never provided a dull moment that I can think of.

I'm SO glad she turned down the steaming pile that was Other M. Her legacy remains untarnished.

She was actually planned to voice Samus in Other M? I know she did her "grunts" in the Metroid Prime Trilogy. (Which I highly reccomend to people here BTW.)
