Jennifer Hale was the only reason I got drawn into the Mass Effect series when ME2 became available to play on the PS3. Mostly due to the fact that I was very fond of her VO work as Dr. Naomi Hunter and Emma "E.E." Emmerich in Konami's/Kojima Production's Metal Gear Solid video games.

Male Shep is my canon playthru, but I always love playin FemShep as a Renegade. I think Ms. hale nails the Renegade lines perfectly.

No offense to Hale but I couldn't get into the FemShep character, her voice is too deep. It didn't really match the character's look. BroShep's voice actor was fantastic, though.

I still think that Honey The Attractive Elcor was her best performance :)

Agreed. This game was some of Hale's best work in the series. Especially the chemistry between her and Ali Hillis (Liara) if you chose them to be a couple.

I've never played a male Shepard because Jennifer Hale's voice acting is just SO much better.

As far as I'm concerned Female Shepard IS the only Commander Shepard.

Regardless of what I think about (the end of) ME3, I just wanted to thank Jennifer Hale for her exceptional work. I have a background in theatre, and I've enjoyed Jennifer's voice overs on a number of Bioware titles. But her work in ME3 deserves a special note...she just nails it. It's honestly some of the best voice acting I've ever heard.

So, thank you Jennifer! Keep up the great work, and all the best in your future projects!

Of course, not. She had nothing to do with the end. She just put life to the script as she was asked.

And did an outstanding job, as she's done with every ME outing.

My canon Shep is Femshep for a reason.

There was an interview where Ali Hillis said tht most of the time, Jennifer Hale already had her lines recorded by the time she recorded hers, so Ali had Jennifer's voice-overs to respond to. So part of the credit goes to Ali Hillis.

Hale is just an awesome voice actor, and deserves a lot of recognition especially in an industry where some idiot actor can go on live TV and say how easy Voice Acting is (I"m looking at you Chris Rock. IT's not easy at all, it's not just saying some lines then leaving).

More love for Mark Meer! After seeing some scenes of femshep I have to say I like his performance better. It sounds more natural to me. I don't understand why people always talk bad about him.

Those who prefer femshep that talk bad about Mark Meer is because his Shepard doesn't put any real emotion into his character. Hale gives FemShep real life, she sounds authentic, she has emotion in everything she says. Meer... Meer doesn't his Shepard at least to me is flat, sounds boring and it sounds as if he himself is bored.

I hope this helps explain why many of us FemShep players both male and female prefer her over Male Shep.

This.

I've often said literally that myself. Meer sounds bored, tired, and like he's just chewing script for pay.

Hale tries her hardest to "be there" and it shows

Meer:

Hale:

Nothing more needs be said.

I do know that Meer's work was awesome, don't know bout Hale's, I killed my femShep at the collector base because I couldn't stand her anymore. Poor Liara, she never got to she Jurassic Park...

She always sounds butch and rough. Not very attractive for me.

That's because Commander Shepard is an officer and a obviously a complete badass. She isn't supposed to sound like some humble little creature.

Then again, I am not intimidated by powerful women. Unless I meet them face to face. Then I throw a smokebomb and flee. I don't know where I'm going with this.

Anyway Hale does an excellent job and deserves the recognition. So do many of the other voice actors in the ME series, by the way.

She was great as Bastilla and as Cortana. But she never sold her performance to me as Shepard. I just found it bit lacking, but it's nice that people seem to be able to overlook the flaws and enjoy her work anyhows.
