Even if you have online feedback off, there are two things you have to understand:

1) You characters, equipment, and credits are stored on the EA server. They don't need your permission to see their data on their servers.

2) Despite matches being hosted by players you still need to be connected the EA servers because that's where all your character information is stored.

So when you turn off online feedback, you stop telling them what class you're using, what weapon, how many rockets you use, which enemy, what map, total time, etc. However it's impossible for you to hide the fact that you just played a match and how much you earned, because the server has to know in order to properly update your experience and credits.

All they need to do is have the server automatically flag anyone who earns more than 75k credits per match (max Gold reward), and if that person gets flagged repeatedly, they can be banned automatically.

even with the glitch you can't get more than 75,000 credits... that's only on modded pc games... the console credit glitch is different and harder to detect on a server

Games are a form of entertainment and as such they should be entertaining. Cheating is just another way to find entertainment in part of a game that has otherwise lost its appeal (and random lockboxes don't have much appeal to start with), so as long as you aren't harming another player's experience then all I can say is "have fun".

Still, I would say if anyone is actually worried about being banned then they shouldn't exploit/cheat. Bioware/EA has a business interest in real money purchases of their random packs (which I find morally objectionable, but hey, their store, their call, nobody's forcing me to use money to buy those packs), so they have a right to ban over this issue.

a 3 day ban for people that get caught is the regret LOL!

if they banned everyone who did the glitch they would be banning alot of people. most dont openly admit to doing it on the forums because thats stupid but banning everyone would take alot of people of the game. i would assume that they are more occupied with pc modders and hackers than people using a credit glitch that and the fact that they havent said anything about it and havent told people not to do it.

Oh, I thought you meant the exploit to repeat wave 10, which should also be possible on consoles.

and regarding people spending actual money on packs most dont do that anyways. i would never spend actual money on packs and i doubt patching the glitch is going to convince people to spend money on random unlocks. none the less they should patch it anyways since so many people are doing it.

It's not a cheat. It's not a glitch. It's death exploiting Wave 10 on Gold for huge sums of credits.

Add it to the list of the plethora of problems with Mass Effect 3. Lots of lines of code, few programmers working on fixes, and the Goblet of Give a **** that the programmers get their sustinance from would be getting mighty empty by now.

I don't really care about the people glitching/cheating in this manner, but call an apple an apple.  It's cheating and glitching.  You are doing something that was unintended by the design.  That's called an exploit.

People try to say, "Oh, well it's so easy to do, it's in the system, it's not my fault!"  That's nothing more than evasive tripe.  It's easy to start offsides in a soccer match.  If the referee isn't watching, you may not even get caught.  In fact, the other team may still score, so it still doesn't matter!  It's.  Still.  Cheating.

Cheat and glitch and do whatever you want as long as it doesn't affect me.  But be honest about it and don't try to **** around with your terminology.  If you're ashamed of being called a cheater, there's a simple solution for that.  Don't cheat.  If you're only worried about the penalty, there are two simple solutions for that: 1) don't cheat, or 2) don't get caught.

But, ffs, don't come on here and try to convince yourself and the world you're not cheating because BW's glitchy code allows it.  You know it's something you're not supposed to do.  Either do it and accept that you're cheating or don't do it.  Period.

I just get sick of people trying to excuse the choices they make.

I would be careful of stating what "most" people do without access to EA's internal numbers on how many packs are purchased using Bioware points, but that aside the fact is this a major publisher we're talking about here; and one of the defining features of major publishers is how they're practically hysteric over "losses" in sales to "piracy" (nevermind that pirates wouldn't have bought the game in the first place) and impose draconian DRM scemes onto their legitimate customers (also to hedge out what little competition they have from used game sales).

Will they be hamfisted about protecting microtransaction sales? Most likely.

You can do whatever you damn well please in single player. Cheat it up when you're by yourself.

But the online service is NOT yours- it's Bioware's, and when you agreed to the User Agreement ( which you did, or else you wouldn't be playing multiplayer ), you were legally bound not to abuse exploits while taking advantage of their online service. By abusing an exploit, you agree that Bioware has EVERY right to do whatever the Hell they want with your online access to the service, and anything you've "earned" ( or even bought ) with it.

The truth is, you have given Bioware free access to take a crap on your access to their service at any time they want now. They could see you badmouth them on the forums one day, three months from now, and ban you indefinitely from all EA online services- and you wouldn't be able to do anything about it.

Actually it's biowares game and it's your fault for knowingly exploiting a glitch.

Paying money for a game doesn't entitle you to abuse bugs/glitches and if/when you get caught using them you have no grounds to complain about it.

It's been this way since the early days of multiplayer gaming, you can ask in any multiplayer game forum or look in the sticky thread about using cheats here.

And yes, before anyone says it isn't a cheat because it's bioware's fault for having the glitch in the first place, that won't fly in any other multiplayer game so i dont see it working here either, ask the WoW comunity and their plethora of "clever use of game mechanics"/bugs/glitches and consecuent bannings/warnings to the people involved.

I always love this entitlement argument. "I paid for it so I can do whatever I want without consequences".

I bought this gun, so I can shoot you in the face if I want.
I bought this cocaine, so I can use it wherever I want.
I bought this car, so I can drive as fast as I want.

No, no you can't -_- Rules are in place for a reason...and I look forward to seeing your complaint thread when you get banned for breaking them.

I'm sorry you don't want to play the game they way it was designed >_> That's not a good enough excuse to abuse/cheat. It wouldn't hold up in a courtroom full of 5 year olds. And since that's basically what the Internet is, it doesn't hold up here either.

But keep telling yourself you're "in control and can do whatever you want with what you bought". Ignorance is bliss.

When did I say there wouldnt be consequences? I said I don't care about them if I get caught I get caught. I paid money if I want to make easy money ill do it. If I want to stand in a game and let my team play while I do nothing ill do it. I simply don't care about the consequences I didn't buy the game for multiplayer. If they wanted me to stop then stop me or patch your buggy glitched up game. I only did the glitch once anyway so yeah whooptyy friggin doo im a cheater I cheated against the ai in a private game once. I should be reported.

Did I state anywhere, at any time, I have ever done this? Did at any point, in anything I wrote, I condone what this is?

Get off your high horse. I'm stating what this is. It's exploitation of an in game mechanic for profit. Not a 'cheat'. Until Bioware fix this people will continue to do it because they can. I have never done this. I will never do this. I don't see the point of doing this, but please, focus your rage and vehemnt disdain to where it should be - Bioware. They're responsible and wholy responsible for this problem. They create the rules which unfortunately allow people to do this.

a 3 day ban is a slap on the wrist, I'd like to see a harsher punishment.
