It's not a cheat. It's not a glitch. It's death exploiting Wave 10 on Gold for huge sums of credits.
Add it to the list of the plethora of problems with Mass Effect 3. Lots of lines of code, few programmers working on fixes, and the Goblet of Give a **** that the programmers get their sustinance from would be getting mighty empty by now.
I don't really care about the people glitching/cheating in this manner, but call an apple an apple. It's cheating and glitching. You are doing something that was unintended by the design. That's called an exploit.
People try to say, "Oh, well it's so easy to do, it's in the system, it's not my fault!" That's nothing more than evasive tripe. It's easy to start offsides in a soccer match. If the referee isn't watching, you may not even get caught. In fact, the other team may still score, so it still doesn't matter! It's. Still. Cheating.
Cheat and glitch and do whatever you want as long as it doesn't affect me. But be honest about it and don't try to **** around with your terminology. If you're ashamed of being called a cheater, there's a simple solution for that. Don't cheat. If you're only worried about the penalty, there are two simple solutions for that: 1) don't cheat, or 2) don't get caught.
But, ffs, don't come on here and try to convince yourself and the world you're not cheating because BW's glitchy code allows it. You know it's something you're not supposed to do. Either do it and accept that you're cheating or don't do it. Period.

I just get sick of people trying to excuse the choices they make.
Did I state anywhere, at any time, I have ever done this? Did at any point, in anything I wrote, I condone what this is?
Get off your high horse. I'm stating what this is. It's exploitation of an in game mechanic for profit. Not a 'cheat'. Until Bioware fix this people will continue to do it because they can. I have never done this. I will never do this. I don't see the point of doing this, but please, focus your rage and vehemnt disdain to where it should be - Bioware. They're responsible and wholy responsible for this problem. They create the rules which unfortunately allow people to do this.

Agree to disagree. Ive always had my attitude about glitchy buggy games never been banned. They should focus on fixing their games and catching the modders who give themselves a billion credits and alter other peoples games or instant unlocks. If they do it alone I don't care its their game they can do with they want with it go crazy. If the glitch was effecting other players and how they play then yes thats cheating and you should be banned. But its not you legit have to have friends or people willing to work with you to do it. Some people don't feel like dealing with biowares crappy lottery system so. Never ending arguement.Laughing Wolf wrote...

Ah. I see you've taken this personally. An easy mistake to make considering my usage of the word "you" -- an admitted mistake on my part. Replace every instance of "you" with "one" or "people/person" and alter the surrounding words for proper grammar.
Good on you that you've never done this. Bad on you that you (yes, you, this time) don't see it as a cheat. Exploiting a glitch to produce unintended results is still cheating, no matter who allowed the glitch to exist.
I will directly use your words, this time. (The previous rant was not intended to be directed at you, so take that as you will; you just happened to prompt the rant with your post. Kind of a straw/camelback situation.) BioWare is not wholly responsible for other people's actions. Just because a man accidentally (please do not try to say BW deliberately created this glitch) leaves a hundred dollar bill hanging halfway out of his pocket does not make it his fault if someone walks by and grabs it. It is his loss, yes. He was careless, yes. But the person who grabbed that bill decided to steal from that man. That person knew he was stealing from that man. That person is wholly responsible for his actions.
The same goes with people glitching/cheating/exploiting BioWare's faulty coding. They know they're cheating. They're responsible for their own actions. So many just try to claim it wasn't their fault when they made that deliberate decision to exploit that coding. That "it's their fault I can glitch so it isn't cheating" cheesehead attitude is worth every bit of vehement disdain (because the slippery slope of that is desensitization to personal responsibility leading to greater harms that a person thinks they shouldn't be accountable for) I can muster while the "yes, I cheated" attitude warrants a mere shrug, disappointed headshake and the Exit Lobby button.

Exactly as all store purchases and credit pocurment is handled server side not client. So op it doesent matter if you got data collection on , off or super cheating loser mode, u will still get caughtAnd i bet if someone cheats and gets caught a 2nd time it will be a perma ban hammer.

Well, there is one problem with permament reseting. It means that this player will probably not be playing mass efect anymore, and this means no more money from DLC's. I am sure 3 days ban is good punishment.

most people have been using this glitch since the demo days and nothing... the only true way to get caught is by playing with randoms... one of those randoms records the game you glitched... and then sends such video to bioware along with your gamertag/origin id. It was the same with battlefield 3 and the edo bot glitch.

Bioware can easily check server logs and check the credits you own/ have aquired against the number of games/objectives you have completed. A stupid friend of mine has had his me account banned and he did the glitch on private with 3 friends who also got banned.

This
entire issue, to me, is like rolling the ball along the ground in
cricket. Bad sportsmanship? Absolutely. Ruins an aspect of the game for
other people? Sure. Against the 'rules'? No, not really. A manipulation
of what's allowed for gain. Until Bioware put their foot down and fix
this so people can't do it (like what the Cricketing Board did with
rolling of the ball), people will do it.
Total bull****, I agree
with you, but until Bioware does something about it you're getting your
underpants in a knot for nothing.
EDIT: For those of you not familiar with bowling underarm in cricket, here is the analogy I used.
